pesticide exposure in early pregnancy before finding out...

Ok, I'm ~5/6 weeks along, and I've been over at my great aunt's house working on a NASTY flea infestation (thousands and thousands in a SMALL house) for the past 6 weeks, spraying various chemicals multiple times with not too much ventalation.

Now that I know I'm pregnant, is there anything/extra tests the Dr and I *should* think about to see if there were any affects on the baby??? I see the nurse on Monday for my intake appointment, but... Dunno... Worried a bit, not TOO much, but I am.

    Thanks for your thoughts!

(my other delema: have not told my dad, and he's the one working with me at his aunt's to kill the fleas... How to not spray anymore yet still not tell Dad for another 1-2 months and him not be suspicious???)

Congratulations on your pregnancy. I think you're going to have to tell your Dad as you can't go near chemicals again.

I'd get a list of the chemicals and talk to a doctor about your exposure. There nothing you can do now and it's likely you havent exposed bub too much as you're not too far along. However, you do need to stop. Were you using masks and wearing protective clothing?

With tests, early scans dont show much. I'd get the NT scan and the 20 week scan. I dont know what else you can do. Maybe bloodtests or hair analysis tests for chemical exposure? I'm not sure how much good that would do other than stress you out.

You could look at drinking fresh vegetable juices to flush your liver out. That's beneficial for everyone anyway. Healthy nutrition and chemical free water makes a huge difference in clearing toxins from your system.
