Brushing bunny help?

We have a beautiful little long haired fluff ball of a bunny. So good natured and very friendly.

My issue is that despite my best efforts our lovely little fluff ball is getting matted fur all around his neck area. Im trying to brush him daily to get on top of it but I am barely making a dent. I dont want to stress him either.

Any suggestions on firstly how to get on top of his current matting? and secondly a good brush or way to brush him so that it doesnt happen again? It seriously only took a day of not brushing (the day we got him) for him to get so knotted!

Maybe ring a vet or pet shop and see what they recommend?

We found a long haired cat brush best when we had rabbits and used to brush the in a room that was small and tiled like toilet/laundry.
