So after suffering from a killer bad shoulder all weekend, turns out I have pneumonia and pleurisy
Tonight I feel like death and doctor said it will get worse before it gets better.
I've never even had bronchitis so got no idea on how to try and relieve the pressure on my chest, any ideas? I'm aching all over and just wanna curl up and sleep for a week, except my shoulder is hurting so badly that I can't sleep! Help!!
oh hun... i had pneumonia in feb this year and it sucked soooo much. that pressure is the worst.
try to sit in some steam or have a big pot of hot water with a towel over your head.
did the dr give you some steroids to build your lungs back up? they do help.
i found sitting up in bed at night much better because when i lay down i felt stuff in my chest move and loosen and made me cough more.
try to take deep breathes again and pretend you are blowing up a balloon to build your lung capacity back up.
not sure what else i did but i hope something i have suggested helps.
also when you finish your antibiotics(but only when you are finished them not during) take some innerhealth plus to get your good stomach bacteria back.
DH had it last year, wound up in hospital for 4 days on oxygen due to not being able to breathe. He was a lot better semi-reclined to sleep rather than laying down, he said it took some of the pressure off his chest - so maybe look at sleeping in a recliner if you have one or propping yourself up on loads of pillows.
The docs also had him on ventolin for when it got really bad, but check with your doctor first - and take it easy! Get plenty of rest even if you aren't sleeping, plus eating a balanced diet with plenty of veggies.
Oh no when I had it I slept sitting up, used a steamer and regularly lay on the bed and hung me head over the side of the bed and tried to cough up the goop ( sorry 'bout that - hope mooned eating).
