Huntsmans aren't venomous but it will just hurt for a bit.HTH
i was getting a few sticks from the garden to get the fire going again and i wasnt really looking what i was doing. i pulled this big stick through my hand to snap it and i felt like a bee sting, i looked and it was a big old huntsman,...it bit my thumb.
freaking out, more that it touched my hand but still.....is it bad??

its throbbing.i think im giving my self symptoms...blurrrr.
Ew ew ew!! God I hate big hairy spiders. Huntsman spiders aren't deadly or anything to humans, you'll prob just swell up a bit and have some pain. But I guess be sure that's what it was and not some funnel web or something (we dont get them in the west so I have noooo idea whether they look like huntsmans!!).
If you're not sure though call the poisons info line or something.
Again - ewww!!
It will hurt alot, but they are harmless in every other aspect. Just put an icepack on it to numb it a bit and it will go away soon
Ouch! That would hurt!! You'll be fine hun, it's probably more of a fright than a nasty bite I think. I would be worried if it was a redback, now that's nasty! Big hugs and hope your thumb stops throbbing soon![]()
With huntsmen, you could get a bit of vomiting and diarrhea.
I've been bitten by a redback. Thats a bit nasty. I had the sweats the chills. It bit me on the hand and my shoulder hurt for a few days, but apart from that I was OK.
Same with DP. He got bitten on the..... hehe... guess!! And he was fine. Slight headache, but fine. And his poor ..... hurt for a while.
Hope you feel better soon.
did you bite it back?
nah in all seriousness you'll be fine, ice helps with the throbbing.
