So, we have a red microfiber couch that is in desperate need of a clean. Its grubby and it stinks.
I have noticed that the colour rubs off on things - like my white computer charger is now pink after 9 months of running behind the couch - so I'm scared to use just anything on it. I looked at the shops and there's nothing specifically for microfiber which is ridiculous considering couches seem to come in only microfiber or leather these days.
Can I use a steam cleaner on it? I've heard avoid soap and water, and that there should be a tag that tells us but we can't find it for the life of us.
Does anyone have any tips? I wish we could've afforded leather but alas!
Steaming will remove odors to a certain extent. Won't generally remove staining. Have you tried a carpet extractor/shampoo? You can find a gentle shampoo that won't move the colour at all.
After cleaning I highly recommend scotchguard.
