Red & hot & painful hands...

Ok so it's a bit of a weird one. The palms of my hands are red, painful & warm - in fact they feel like they are burnt, I can't tolerate heat of any kind on them.
I thought maybe I had a reaction to the dishwashing liquid or something but last night they were a little bit better & then today they got worse again. And I think it's starting in my feet.

    Any ideas?

Could it be your washing powder?

Can you give nurse on call a call and see what they have to say.

Haven't changed the washing powder. I have changed shampoo, and dish liquid... I thought it was that until today when it got worse & I have used neither for a couple of days.

I don't know if I'd call nurse on call, I feel silly as it is

When I was having unexplained rashes for months, that is how I knew my antihistamines were wearing off, my palms would get incredibly red and itchy. It turns out that I probably had a reaction to a virus. If you are willing to try some antihistamines it might work.

Do you think Demazin would do it?

Probably, I was on one zyrtec every other day for around six months.

I get the same reaction after a cold virus, my body is having an allergic reaction. Try antihistamines... they usually work within 20-30 mins. GL hun xx

I took Demazin last night, it might have helped a little bit... I'll get something from the chemist today. They are not as red this morning but my fingertips are numb. weird.

MD, I saw a GP yesterday - for DD2, and I just asked while I was there - and he said it looked like chillblains, but it's not that cold here...

Delphmoon thanks for the link... I had heard of Raynauds & wondered, but it doesn't sound the same.

I am thinking it's probably more of a reaction to somehting... I have been sick recently so it does fit with it being a reaction to a virus.

Just updating, with a question for Cat & Little chicken & anyone else who had something similar before...

They stayed red & sore for a few days, then went numb & a bit swollen, I lost feeling in my fingertips... now they are peeling, horribly, really thick dry peeling...the skin underneath is weird too, not quite right yet.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? GP is stumped

Sorry, no that never happened to me. I think your GP needs to refer you on, don't know who to though, a dermatologist maybe?
