    wahooo!!

i am finally getting my bits fixed, only 11mths post birth
after the universe doing its utmost to get in the way..(from private health insurance, to waiting periods for public health, to my son being in WCH with a reaction to egg on the day of my appointment, when i had waited 3 mths to get it!!)
BUT now they have finally seen me and agreed that i need fentons procedure and steriod injections. they want me to have GA and stay overnight.
just wondering has anyone else had the scar tissue fixed from a tear or epsiotamy scar? how successful was it? was it day surgery or overnight?

sorry for the questions but ive never actually been in hospital except for pg issues and the arrival of my lil man.

Really well actually! I had some fatigue issues after the GA but that's normal in my family. I had to get some of the stitches out early good they were uncomfortable however, Im Back on the horse so to speak with DF  in time to get Married in Nov as well!

thats great. i had a fentons on tuesday. they sent me home and said to simply have panadol. i am still pretty sore. went to the GP today who gave me some antibiotics for possible infection. so how long did it take for you to be not sore or uncomfortable down there after the procedure?

Um probably about 2weeks then it was good for about a week before i needed some stitches out cos they were to tight.
Try sitting on an ice pack, padded with a tea towel. I found that helped better than paracetamol.

thanks for the advise. i will do that. i remember doing that after my DD was born actually. they had the special ice pads at the hospital.. unfortunately i didnt get offered anything like that after this procedure. did you do the sitz bath thing? the gp told me to do that today and i found that the area stung a bit more than usual afterwards. not sure if i will do that again.

I had salt baths to perish the stitches faster and its good for cleaning the area too so would be good if you have a bit of an infection.

Oh and I also used wet wipes for a while to make sure it stays clean too
