Getting References When You Haven't Worked fora Few Years

Basically how do you do this? DP and I have decided to swap roles due to health issues on his part. I have found a job advertised that is right in my field of nursing, and want to apply, but I haven't worked in about 2 years and have not kept in touch with my old bosses. How can I get professional references?

Could you maybe go back to your old work and ask for them to be a reference?

My referees are sometimes ones from a few years ago, if they are most relevant for the position i am going for.

    * I found it amazing that my current employer has never rung a person's referee!

I have one professional referee, will have to find out if she still works there. Oh HotI, can I come and work at your place? lol.

MN, usually I would, but I now live on the other side of the country. If I hadn't moved I would still be working there.
