    Exclamation Baby Shower Gift

So I've been entrusted with buying a friend's baby shower gift from our little circle of friends. But I have no idea what to buy them, even though I have an 11month old . So my question to you -

What is one thing you can not do without and would recommend to any first time (or second or third for that matter) mum?

    Please help me... thanks

my token baby shower gift is muslin wraps. i went to one yesterday and got her that plus some thicker wraps as its winter...

another nice thing is something for mum, like a facial or massage is always thoughtful.

Depends on your budget but I have one and have bought a few for my friends is a "MILK BAR" feeding pillow. It is mainly for breast feeding but can be used for bottle fed babies. Great for those that do have babies on the bigger side ;-)

Or definately bamboo wraps as they are stretchy, light in weight but are great for all temperature environments!

Play mat or play gym. I got two at my baby shower and they were both used a lot!

I got far too many wraps and rugs so I personally wouldn't recommend that. They are good gifts for individuals but something bigger from a group is fun A breastfeeding pillow is a great idea but obviously only if the mum to be plans to BF. They are still great for support a baby when bottle-feeding though.

Thanks girls.. I was thinking a bouncer/swing cos it was a godsend for us with DS, and we ended up with 2 which didn't go astray

Teirae - we got her a gift voucher for pampering for her birthday in March, so that might be a bit close
leesha - the Milk Bar sounds like a good idea, I'll look into that one thanks... how much are they roughly?
Taurean - I ended up with heaps of wraps too, I don't think I've used half of them!

I more love the sentimental/trinket type stuff like pewter/silver things such as a birth certificate holder, my first tooth/curl, money box etc.

    Love things like that

Otherwise practical stuff like a box of nappies or some Gaia baby wash and moisturiser.

Couldn't do without my baby monitor and a small lamp low wattage so that's it's a little more than a night light but won't wake up baby.

MIL also bought me an alpaca wool blanket so when I was bf in winter, through the night I had something warm over my legs.

With DS I could not have managed without the bouncer chair, and with both Ds and DD the swing has been a godsend. With DD I was given the most comfortable baby carrier ever and it has been my favourite and most appreciated gift this time around
