    A uterus question

I thought your uterus was supposed to shrink back to size in 6-8 weeks. I had a pelvic ultrasound today and they said its still not back to normal size?

    What the?

Personally I can't tell you as I never had an u/s post birth to see what size it was. However, from memory I thought it was up to 3 months though until it went back to normal so it could still be shrinking. Were they concerned at all that it hadn't gone back at this stage?

I didn't have an ultrasound either but at my 6 week post op check the doc said "your uterus hasn't shrunk back down to normal yet has it?" And I was like, HTH should I know? He didn't say much more and I had other questions I was more focused on at the time.

Will your u/s results be reviewed with you by someone? Do they know what your 'normal' size was pre-pg? Everyone is different, I think it's a bit of a weird comment to make.

They didnt seem concerned.. just me stewing over things I guess. I guess it hasnt been 3 months yet anyway and maybe when I get af it will help it shrink back?

lol Kaz your right hth should you know haha. Well they were doing it to see whether I have PCOS. Ill call the dr at the hospital next week to see what she thinks. No idea what my "normal" size was pre-preg. Just my googling said 6-8 weeks and I hate being abnormal :P

    Thanks girls x

Mine still had a while to go after my 6 week check and I was breastfeeding (isnt that meant to make it quicker?). I cant remember when it was back to normal but I think it was around the 3 monthish mark (I stopped Bfing at 6 weeks).
