    Bleeding more than usual

Just posted this in the BB thread on FB, and thought someone here might be able to help too!
Hi all, just wondering if anyone can help, be warned this will be TMI!...I am 4 1/2mth post baby. I have my period at the moment, on day 4 which is normally fairly light, but I am bleeding a fair bit more than usual and previous periods have been a bit heavier than usual. I had a shower at about 3pm and put on a fresh pad and have already gone through it, my knickers and pj's. There were also a few small clots on it. I can feel the flow come out every now and then in gushes. I am worried I might be hemmoraging again. I dont know what to do, DH is on a night shift til midnight and I have noone else to call to be with the kids. Is it likely I might be hemmoraging so long after birth? Has anyone got any suggestions?

I'd ring a medical advice line like nurse on call, or your nearest ED, or OB if you had one and get some advice......

Thanks JM, I'm not really one to worry about stuff like this, but I have haemmoraged wtih all of my births and with my first angel I nearly bled to death about 6 wks after I gave birth due to retained products. With this birth, the doctor gave me a manual extraction of products after birth due to haemmorage again. I'm just worried he missed something. I guess I am just super aware and sensitive. I will just wait and see. I have cleaned up and will see what happens in the next few hours.

Given your history I'd be cautious too. No harm in a phone call.
    Hope it settles down.

I didn't get AF back until about 8 months due to BF, but my first few were very much like you described, and are slowly getting better, but still very heavy and a lot of clots. Hope it settles quickly for you.
