    What's your daily/weekly/monthly housework routine?

I've decided since moving, I am going to become a domestic goddess.
I've been REALLY good with washing dishes and cleaning as I go since I moved here which is a massive improvement on where I was at the last place ( dishes would be piling up for days before I tackled them )

Anyway, I've written 3 lists - Daily, Weekly and Monthly.
I've divided the vaccumming into daily for the lounge and weekly for the hallway and bedrooms, same with sweeping and mopping - daily for kitchen/dining, weekly for bathroom, toilet laundry etc.
I've got my daily dishwashing and laundry to dos.
I've got things like cleaning the oven once a month, as well as the windows and my plan is to wipe over all the doors for finger marks once a week, and the walls and skirting boards once a month.

I'm not sure how often things like these are meant to be done?
    What's your routine?

I think I must be very lazy! I do finger prints when I see them, windows get done about once or twice a year. I clean the laundry about monthly, The bathroom, well the shower gets wiped out after ds uses his or dh uses ours then thouroughly weekly sometimes every other week if it doesnt need it. bath gets done after every bath the girls or I have but its no hassle... then theres the daily stuff like kitchen is twice a day, toilets daily, I vaccume the lounge daily/2nd day, sweep everywhere else at night after girls are in bed then vaccume the whole house & wash floors weekly or so. I put the daily cloths on to wash at night after baths then hang out in the morning, sheets ect get done once a week, curtains 6monthly if i feel like it

I tend to do everything I can of a night when the girls cant hassle me and if I keep ontop of it all, then it's never a big job or draining to do... With saying that though, my desk is atrocious (sp?) it hasn't seen tidiness an about a year now and I'm too scared of both what I will find & what I will loose if I tidy it.
I just figure, as long as the beds are made, toilets are hygenic, washing hung out there is nothing on the kitchen benches and the lounge is tidy, I can live with that! 20 min a day max theres no way I'd ever touch an iron! lol, my mil asked dh where the iron was and he said he didnt think we had 1 cause he haddnt seen it in years so she went & bought me one... it now sits with the other 3 at the top of my linnen cupboard where it is way out of my sight!

I have an iron.... it comes out about 4 times a year. hahahaha

I'm thinking I might need to cut down on the dishes... I'm doing them 4-5 times a day/whenever there are more than 3 things to wash. I don't fill the sink... I usually fill the largest dish with water and wash the lot that way... but it's nearly becoming an obsession!! (and if you knew me a week ago.. you'd have a freak out!!)
I've thought about doing everything at night, but I guess that's my chillax time with hubs, or I'm off at training or sports. I have a friend who wakes at 6am every morning and does everything by 8am. THAT'S dedication! haha

Far out! I could never do everything in the morning, I'm up at 6 and am still rushing out the door late at 8!

    Daily I
    unstack the dishwasher/reload
    make the beds
    wipe the bathroom vanity
clean the loo every other day
    benches in kitchen (usually twice)
    sweep if it needs it
    put washing away
tidy twice a day - if it doesn't build up it's only a five minute job

    Weekly I
    vacuum
    mop
    dust
    skirting boards
empty all the bins in the house
    change sheets and towels
    clean the shower
    wipe the mirrors
    clean out the car
clean out my wallet and handbag

I don't have monthly jobs, I just do stuff as I see it needs it. Usually one little task a day. We don't clean windows here in the desert unless there's something horrendous smeared on them. I don't use my oven a whole heap unless I'm baking (I am the master of the barbeque though lol- then I don't have to clean it).

I used to be really good with my housework, even better when i was nesting! Then DD came along and i just fell behind but now my routines are:

    Daily:

    Dishes
Wipe down benches, stove and sink
Washing, fold and put away clean washing.
Tidy up loungeroom, DD's room and front area (she usually trashes them throughout the day so i go around after her cleaning up)
Vacuum & mop every 2nd day
    Empty bin and clean bin

    Weekly:

    Full house vacuum & mop
    Clean bathroom and toilet
Wash sheets and air out pillows

    Monthly to 6 monthly:

    Wipe down walls, skirting boards
    Clean shower top to bottom
Get carpets cleaned (this hasnt started so its a thing to start doing)
Spring clean the house and garage get rid of junk we dont need or use (this is probably a yearly thing)

I could be better and not all the time i follow this routine.. if im sick of DD is sick then i dont.

What stands out from reading this post is none of you mention what your DP/H does. Please, please, please tell me he does his fair share of housework!! After all, it's not the 1950s!!!!

DP is in charge of keeping his computer room clean, mowing the lawns. He does the vacuuming when i ask and cleans the oven. But because he is at work more than me i do everything else when im home.

Ok SO my routine for me daily is:

    Dishes (usually 3 times)
Washing wash dry fold put away
    Sweep kitchen and dining
    Vac lounge.

I'm finding I'm getting most of that done by 10-11, so I come and chill on the comp for an hour and then get into lunch.
I've decided I will do 1 weekly job every day and on Tuesdays and Thursdays when I don't go anywhere during the day I will do 2.

    Weekly
    * vac hallway and bedrooms
    * sweep and mop laundry, bathroom, toilet etc.
    * Full kitchen dining Mop.
    *wipe down all doors
    * bathrooms and laundry sinks cleaned
    *Beds changed
    * microwave cleaned out.
*fire place cleaned out - probably more like twice weekly

    Monthly
    *windows cleaned inside and out
    * walls and skirting boards wiped down
    *oven cleaned
*Lounge suite wiped and conditioned (leather)
    *Dusting
    * clean fridge (inside and outsde)
    *toy and clothes cull.

Now My hubby will help when I haven't gotten around to it (I'm a bit crook so he was team housework yesterday).
    He also:
Cuts and Carts wood for the fire.
Takes the bins out (which is about 500 metre walk one way)
Is in charge of all the outside stuff
    Washes the cars
He MUST keep all his clutter under control ( I will be getting into him about this one! He's a mad car freak.... car EVERYTHING!).
He also does the grocery shopping with me, looks after the kids 3 nights a week while I'm out doing me stuff, looks after them if I'm going away for a weekend etc.
He also cooks some of the time.

He used to have to do EVERYTHING. I've only just started being this way and I actually don't mind it. I don't mind cleaning the house during the day. I know he's kinda freaked out at the moment because 2 months ago before our move, I was lucky to wash the dishes once a week! I was lucky to vac once a fortnight! There were lots of issues around the reasons behind this... but being in a new house has really fixed it all up.
Now that I'm all domesticated, I'm hitting him up for a romantic dinner date once a month.

    Ok, so daily

    • check and update diary
    • get mail
    • outside time (get DS in the pram and walk the dogs)
    • clean benches
    • bathe DS
    • any dishes by hand
    • cook dinner

and then each day has a theme:

    Monday - Bathroom and Kitchen
Tuesday - general tidy, vacuum, mop
    Wednesday - Gardening and animals
    Thursday - Laundry and sheets
    Friday - Shopping and cooking
    Saturday - Office and filing
Sundays are our day for church and family.

DH is a full time SAHD and I work quite long hours, so he does more around the house than me.
