I have but it wasn't any more expensive than other treatments and I got it back on Private Health Insurance - mine does deep tissue and dry needling and I have found it very effective.
Just wondering if anyone on BB has had Myotherapy and if they have found it affective?
I have an unstable pelvis and am currently seeing a chiro regularly and doing clinical pilates. I have had a bad flair up this month and I'm in excruciating pain. At the chiro last night, the receptionist highly recommended trying myotherapy. It's pretty expensive so I'm hoping to hear from others who have tried it so I can work out if it's worth my while or not.

I loved it! Found it way more effective than physio, and was my therapy of choice after my car accident. Really recommend it, or a great osteo.

I had it for my neck and shoulders I loved it. It is like a very hard masssage, it got all the kinks out.
My sister is a myotherapist and she treated me through my first pg and it was awesome!
She has a range of methods to treat but predominantly does deep muscle treatments, most are trained in cupping, dry needling, acupressure and massage.

Thanks so much for your replies everyone
It sounds like it might be worth a go, I'll have a chat to my DH about it. We don't have private health insurance so everything is costing us a fortune!
Kelly - The chiro receptionist said it's better than physio too and it costs as much as my physio, but with myotherapy I'd get a full hour which sounds pretty appealing
I must have the most expensive back going around LOL!
I am a myotherapist, not practicing at present but keen to get back.
I think it is definately worth a try as hands on tissue release can be very effective from the hands of a trained professional.
I would recommend finding a Myotherapist through a recommendation if you can manage it - as in every industry there are good and bad. Also, some Myotherapists specialise in different techniques, conditions etc so you may be able to find someone who is a better fit for you. Otherwise, make sure they offer private health insurance and/or are registered with a professional body. This will vouch for their skills and training as unfortunately there are people out there calling themselves Myotherapists who have not done the training.

I have had myotherapy on a frozen shoulder and found it effective especially in the area of pain relief....I can recommend someone in frankston if that is localish to you who is very very good.
jackrose - Thanks for your advice. I am considering going to the Myotherapist who runs out of the same clinic as my chiro, they definitely accept private health (not that I have it!), so I'm assuming they're OK. If you can recommend anyone in the eastern 'burbs of Melbourne I'd really appreciate it!
Melbel - I'm glad you've had success with myotherapy too. I'd love some recommendations, but Frankston is too far for me unfortunately.
Just thought I'd update to say I'm booked in for my first myotherapy session this arvo! Thanks everyone for your advice and PM's, you all helped me to decide (and convince DH) to give it a go. I'll let you all know how I go.
The timing couldn't be better, I'm in so much pain today. It's taking my breath away and I'm fighting the tears (but they're winning
). Fingers crossed myotherapy will bring some relief!
hun I hope it brings you some relief chicky oxoxox Let us know how you go.
