I am planning a HBAC for August for my second child. I have a brilliant doula and back-up doula lined up, the hospital is required to provide me with a midwife, so there will be a midwife there too, and of course my DH.
I have read so much literature about what could go wrong, I have looked into the statistics of occurrence of the different signs of things going wrong, looked at resources for VBAC etc. (and have been told a great deal from Drs and midwives) but I was hoping that someone reading on this forum might have had direct experience and could let me know what it might feel like if something does happen to go wrong (so I can be alert to it). Am happy to be sent a message if you prefer not to reply on the thread.
I don't have any direct experience, only what I've also read and heard from others.
In terms of uterine rupture, I'm pretty sure that the pain from that doesn't ebb and flow with the contractions but remains constant throughout the breaks between contractions.
Hopefully someone with some direct experience can come in here and post though.
Good luck with it. FWIW, I got some medical debriefing with a private midwife after my c-section and she was saying the best chances I had for a normal vag delivery with future babies was to do a VBAC at home.
