My parents are possably moving to Mackay at the end of the year. Hubby and I are seriously considering following them up there. The only thing here is his job (so i his family but since they have more or less disowned us now they dont come into the decision).

I was wondering if anyone could tell me

1) What the area is like to live up there?
2) How much the average house costs to buy and rent?
3) Is there much employment oppurtunities?
4) General information
