Little ripple nappies - anyone used these (eBay)

Hi! Nobody usually replies to threads I start lol but if anyone has tried the little ripple brand of nappies that you can get on eBay can you please tell me if they are any good? We used bumgenius and greenkids for DD but they are pretty much unserviceable now and I can't afford to replace them for baby #2. Thanks in advance, Pip

Hey thanks for the reply ladies. I found them on eBay after realising that we just don't have another $400+ to set up a new nappy stash. These nappies seem too good to be true but DH and I have decided to purchase them anyhow, you can get 11 for $45 and that includes microfibre inserts (although my old inserts would be still good) so even if they are no good it won't be the end of the world. There are quite a few brands on eBay but the particular company that is selling them looks to be good and they are Australian I think. So I'll update in September!!

Hi Pip82 I just had a look at the nappies. We were given some of them when DS3 was born as a gift. They weren't called Little Ripples they were called Baby Land from a different supplier, but they are the same nappy.
Ok so I threw out the microfiber inserts they were just too crap, one new born wee and they were soaked. But we still use them now with our other inserts and they have been pretty good! We use them with Iishfly bamboo prefolds, or BBH boosters/inserts. I noticed only yesterday that the PUL is starting to come away from a few. That's after 18 months use though so not bad for the price I think. We have Itii's and BBH in our stash too so it's not exclusive use of the Little Ripples, but DS is full time cloth so they are used daily if not every second day. The elastic started to stretch out a few months ago, but there were enough snaps that you can bear with it for a while. I have a snap setter so we added a couple of extras to the really stretched few. So if you still have your old inserts I'd say they would be a good option for you.
Hope that was helpful for you

Thanks for more replies! Glad to hear at least the PUL has held up. Well I just ordered 20 off eBay last night. I would have liked to get more expensive ones but at this stage (DH will be out of work in a few weeks) :/ it's nit going to happen so I'm glad that I have this option. I'll let you know how they go (#2 in less than a month!!!!)

If I buy little ripple nappies, which inserts should I buy if the ones that come with them aren't much good?

I used the Iishfly prefolds (small size), I also used the BBH inserts. They both worked well in them. You can adjust the absorbency by using a prefold with a BBH or a couple of BBH. HTH

We use MLR for DD2. They last her 3-4 hours but I've double boostered them to try them overnight and they've done 7 hours before leaking. I love them for around the house but use more better quality ones when we're out for the day.

For their price, they are pretty good quality. We got a 10 pack, I'll be buying another 5 and then another 10 or so inserts as the shells dry really quickly but they can't be used until the inserts are dry aswell.

Just to update - so far so good, for their price they are pretty decent although we don't use them out and about much. They didn't fit dd2 around the legs well until now (2 months) but were still usable as long as they got changed straight away.

Thought I'd update again... Most of the nappies are fine and I'm using them in a rotation of 26 - 20 MLR and 6 bumgenius from dd1, plus disposables overnight.

The blue ones have had the PUL separate into 2 layers, one being like cling film. This is after 2 months of gentle use. I emailed them and they have admitted that the blue ones may be part of a bad batch but won't replace them as they have a 14 day return policy. I was still pregnant after 14 days! Not sure if I'll follow it up (principle mainly) but just thought I'd warn you they have been less than helpful, although they do email back promptly. I realise that yes you get what you pay for but as it is a defect in the blue ones I believe they should be replaced. Anyhooo....

I agree they should have, the 14day replacement policy probably means they are aware they can be a bit dodgy so they don't give you long.

I think it was the green and yellow in my lot that weren't so good.
