    Original ergo newborn insert

I borrowed the original newborn insert from a friend and I'm following official directions I found online to use with my ergo sport.

But my newborn just flops around and sags and I can't get the bottom corners under her tiny legs comfortably, I don't think she wants her legs spread like that at all.

Any tips? She's quite pukey so I want to carry her upright with her tummy not scrunched up, otherwise I'd just use my pouch.

You need to make sure her head is sitting just below the top, rounded end of the insert and her legs should be down towards the straight end. Her head goes near your shoulder and her legs together near your opposing hip. She may seem squished up in it but they love it!

It takes a bit to get used to... TBH I found the new heart to heart insert much easier to use.

Not sure why her legs are spread...? They should be together...

The instructions I found on the ergo site said to bring the bottom corners together between her legs.

I was going to buy the h2h, but I borrowed the old one and was hoping to get it working. I'll try that diagonal position if I understand it correctly.

I hated it and only used it a handfull of times before I bought a baba sling till DS1 was old enough to support head!.
I had DS1 more across ways.

Bring the bottom corners together between her legs? How bizarre, I never did that...

I put the ergo on, nice and loose and without the shoulder strap fastened, then put the insert on the bed, laid DD down on it so her head was in the right position, checked the length at the bottom (from memory the insert sat somewhere near her knees or just below, don't think I bothered folding it up) then I would pick the sides of the insert with one hand, cuddle underneath with the other arm and slide her down into position.

Her bottom would end up sitting nice and snug right in the middle of the ergo, down the bottom, just above the thick padded part of the waistband, ITMS! Legs would be at my right hip, I think from memory they went between the waist band and the adjustable strap...

Her head would be up at my left shoulder.

    Gee its hard to describe!

Hey thanks, I looked it up on you tube and found a video of what you described.

The ergo site instructions might work for a larger baby, but I think the cradle carry is better for a little floppy dolly.
