    Sex after c-section

ok so its been almost 6 weeks after my c-section and we tried to DTD but it hurt like hell. and i have NO idea why? it sorta stung and im really concerned. i had DS3 naturally and had a 3rd degree tear but after that all healed as long as we used lubrication it was fine.. ive searched and searched and cannot find a reason why i have our 6 week check up on wednesday so will ask the dr then but i thought someone in here might be able to tell me?

TIA i have a male dr and it can sometimes be a little uncomfortable asking things like this.

For me it was painful for a good 2.5 months after my c-sec I think it had to do with the muscles etc that get cut and shifted during the procedure as well as the nerve endings. They'd still be recovering from the surgery and I am sure I have read somewhere on here (or in a book) that it actually takes your body 12 months to fully heal after C-sec.

Discuss it with your dr, but I'd wager a bet that you still have some swelling and may require a little more time.

    Hoping you feel better soon

Thanks Nae, i never really thoguht about swelling and nerve endings, i just figured not having bub come out of that exit might mean DTD earlier would be ok. Thank you heaps.

Are you breastfeeding??? It took me over a year to have no pain and it was all linked to low estrogen from breastfeeding. I got some cream from the dr which I actually never used as it can cause milk supply to drop, and we just used a lot of lube and it eventually got better.

I had a stinging pain almost like there was a constriction in my vagina. Even lube didn't work for a long time. I know alot of girl who have had c/s who have experienced the same. My theory was that the vagina is intended to be stretched out and then is programmed to shrink again. So if you don't get stretched with a vaginal birth, but you are still programmed to shrink does it cause a constriction? Anyway that is just the theory I have. Mostly because the issues seem to be mostly for the c/s girls iykwim? Anyway good luck. We just used patience and gentleness to fix the problem but it took awhile.

Hmmm, I've never heard of this. Will be something to think about if I don't get my VBAC.
We DTD (was a little uncomfy the first time, but then it was fine) after only 6 days. My hormones were MAD!!!
But I had nearly no pain after c/s.

Bella that is really interesting! Although we used lube I was in tears when dtd for almost a year and the times we tried were pretty minimal because of the pain, I fed til 17 mths with DS but the pain eased up from 12 mths but that is a looong time to not dtd when you want to!
