Taking a name of a lease

When a name is taken of a year long lease (only a few months into it) is a new lease drawn up or is it continued as normal.
So if my ex takes his name off the lease am I at risk that they will not draw up a new lease because I am a single mum with a 'few' kids?
We have been really good with the rent and I have been here for about 16mths.

From what i understand (but may be wrong!) is you have to apply again in your own name. Basically they need to assess whether you are suitable candidate and can afford it etc now that you are on your own. Perhaps ring the relevant tenancy 'place' for your state and they will tell you. Or ring the real estate and they could tell you what their standard procedure is.

I've removed names previously and it's been OK. If you're able to prove that he's not been contributing to the rent then you wil (hopefully) be fine
