Removing chewing gum from leather boots (and cloth skirts...)

Unfortunately there appear to be ferals at the Family Court

I sat down on one of the interview room chairs at work, and the back of my knee high boots picked up a big glob of fairly fresh chewing gum. Unfortunately I didn't notice and then crossed my legs... let's just say the beautiful $40 tights I was wearing are now in the bin. The tights transferred some of the chewing gum onto the satin underskirt of my gorgeous suit... and there's still a big glob of the gum on my boots, which I haven't worn since. And of course the boots are black and the gum is kinda white...

I'm going to get the skirt dry cleaned and hopefully that will fix that.

How do you get chewing gum off leather?

Would freezing it hurt the leather? If you freeze the boot you should be able to chip it off. Same with the skirt.

Bahaha at the apparent ferals though...you think?

Mum swears by eucalyptus oil. Maybe put the boots outside to get the chewing gum cold & scrape off as much as you can (gently because you don't want to damage the leather), then use eucalyptus oil with a cotton bud or ball. Probably best to sit on the deck for this one, unless the boys are wheezy and do it in the loungeroom.

Do you have any leather cleaner for your couches?

All else fails - take it to an old-school bootmaker/repairer, they may be able to clean it off for you.
