Boys names - pretty please help!!

I know I'm only 18 weeks but boys names are frustrating me already

We had two gorgeous boys names picked out when I was pregnant with DD but both have been used since - one by a family member and the other by one of the girls in my mum's group for her second son. Boo!!! Just so you know, they were Isaac and Oliver. I'm one of those women that just can't use a name once it's been used in our immediate family or circle of friends so sadly, they are totally out of bounds now.

I've really fallen for Xavier this time but DH is not keen AT ALL. He's just not budging on it. The only boys names he likes on my very short list are:

    - Jacob
    - Orlando

Jacob is a family name on both side - DH's dad's side (one of the first males on the family tree that we have history for) and it was also my mum's grandfather. I really like it but I'm a bit scared by 'J' names So many people, especially teachers, seem to say that the kids with 'J' names are the naughty ones! Now I can't get it out of my head!!!

I love Orlando but we are a bit scared it's 'too modern'. Of course the name came to our attention because of Orlando Bloom but that was many years ago when he first hit the spotlight. The last thing we want is people thinking we picked it because of Miranda and Orlando Not that there's anything wrong with that but it's just not the reason.

So what do you girls think? Any other suggestions would be awesome. Our surname starts with 'H', is two syllables and is 7 letters long. It's not a common name either.

    TIA!!

Yeah, I didn't think I'd imagined hearing that. Jacob is looking awfully good as middle name

There are some awesome names on your lists girls but so many of them are already friends or family names I mean literally heaps of the names you've all just mentioned are 'gone' (you're list is the exception though MNB but I think they'll be too alternative for DH and Jasper has been used by two friends already. Can you believe my luck?!

There is one though that I love and that's Hamish but is that too much given our surname starts with 'H'??

Can you guys give me the 'yay' or 'nay' for Orlando too? Ta!

I don't mind Orlando actually, I don't think its common. I think Hamish H is cute maybe try yelling it several times and see how it feels?

Not keen on Orlando sorry - and yes it is because of Orlando Bloom, not because I dislike him per se but because it makes the name very dated.

Hamish would depend on what your surname is, having the same first and last initial isn't that bad, but if it sounds similar or doesn't "ring" I wouldn't do it.

    Boys names I love:

    Carmichael
    Alexander
    Lachlan
    Samuel
    Leon
    Daniel
    Nicholas
    Paul
    Simon
    Nathaniel/Nathan

BM - thanks hon. James seems to be the exception to the rule I actually like James but it's DHs best mate and an ex boyfriend of mine (I sound like a right tart with all these ex boyfriends! In my defence, lol, most of them were in highschool but still, I just can't do it!)

Nai - loved Oscar but he's a nephew Also like Declan but DH doesn't and the fact that it doesn't convert easily to a nickname is a negative for me.

Picky preggy cow, aren't I?! Yes, nicknames are important too!

Hamish actually sounds good with our surname despite both starting with H.

Nae - you know our surname, what do you think?

Hamish Jacob sounds nice as does Hamish Orlando. I love Hamish but am a little biased as it's ds2s name
