I have a basic bagless vacuum cleaner, the filter part comes apart into a few bits.. there is the outer filter that is like a meshy thing.. and then the inner filter that is the cylinder thing.... and i want to know if i can wash the cylinder bit in water????
Since we have moved here we have used the vacuum cleaner to clean around the fireplace and all this ash and dust is in there- i have banged it on the brick wall to get as much of it as possible to come out/off.. but i just want to give it a good clean!!
I do know if i do wet it i will have to make sure its super dooper dry before i use it, but i am just wondering if i will do more harm than good if i wet it!!!
I bought a new vac months ago! (online) and only today have opened it out of the box =P
But it has filters that have a mesh around the outside that comes off. According to the book, I take the mesh off and just wash the inside bit. and it says DONT use detergent or anything... but doesnt actually say how to wash them, so i'm guessing just water (cause it said not to use stuff).
Think this would be the same for yours???
I'd give it a good rinse/scrub with water, and then sit it out in the sun to dry.
Thanks!! I gave the rest of it it a good clean which helped.. but really needed to vacuum so i didnt do the filter. i will do that this week AFTER I vacuum so that it has a good few days to dry!!
OMIGOD Teirae.... YOU GOT A NEW VACUUM CLEANER!!!!!!!!!!!! How cooool!!!!
