Tell me about your vaccuum cleaner

    Hi all,

Lets be honest I absolutely hate my vaccuum cleaner. Well it used to be awesome, before they stopped making the filters for it, before it had endured years of hard work keeping my floors clean.
But now it has a mind of its own and is useless..

So I need a new one (and considering Im on stirke until Dh gets the message that its desperate) and soon..

My question is what do you have and what would you suggest I get?

Personally, mine sucks. Sorry had to say it.

I have a dyson, only the basic model, but it is fantastic.

I have a Kirby and am in complete and utter love. They are super expensive but it seriously makes cleaning so much easier.
I have heard great reports about the Dyson's that pretty much rival the Kirby's.

Have a roomba robot vacuum. Press the button and off it goes, love it!

Only prob is only does the floors, no attachments to do under sofa cushions etc.

I think is brill but maybe does not do an absolutely perfect job, so not for the perfectionist but I am as far away from a domestic goddess as can be so for me is perfect.

ive got a miele dog and cat one...

its great, we have choc brown carpet and a white dog and i use it daily and it hasnt disappointed me yet!

i buy bags for it twice a year which i think is pretty good, and its got varied sucking power comes with lots of adaptors as well!

if this one dies ill be buying the same one next time!

Am loving this thread I have a Wertheim and I've decided I hate it, so am looking for something else. It is very good but it's so heavy! It has a power head on it which is fantastic but the basic head is pretty useless, and I'm sick of having to drag out the power head for every vaccuum.

I was a dyson diehard...until I tried the new Electrolux bagless vacs.
Variable sucking, quieter, stronger, easier to get (cheaper) filters/bits for, easier to clean filters and half the price.

    Divvy!

    lc!

thanks ladies, I went window shopping whilst Dh was at work and found an upright dyson, only problem is that its white and doesnt look pretty. So now Im not so sure about it. At this stage I want an upright, mainly because every carpet person I've ever talked to said upright vacs are the best. Also it would be nice not to have to bend over when cleaning the floors.

wysiwyg, Ive always wanted a robot vaccuum cleaner, but Im sure I would blow it up within a week or so of having it, most days I have to do the floors at least twice a day just to keep on top of them, and thats without the dog letting herself in!

I had serious Dyson envy after borrowing a friend's when my old vacuum blew up, so now I have the Dyson with the motor head. We've got a combination of carpet and tiles, and its brilliant. The motor head on the carpet picks up absolutely everything, including cat hair, playdoh and glitter!
