I would honestly go with your gut on that one.. If you don't want to wait the weekend then don't.. Sounds quite nastyHope she feels better soon..
DD has scored herself a nasty "cold"....
complete with a runny nose that wont stop running down her face, a twmp of 38.3 which has now lowerd to the high 36's, and a cough...
cough wasnt to bad until this morning....
its gotten very gunky and she is "choking" and gagging everytime the coughs and when we were in the supermarket carpark (thank god!) she coughed so hard she vomitted up all this wateru chunky stuff (sorry for those having a late lunch)![]()
we took her to the gp yesterday who used their favourite words "viral infection" which im fine with BUT her cough has gotten a lot worse over night.
he mentioned that if i dont feel that she is improving to go back in 48hrs, but made me feel like i was being paranoid...
so would u take her back tomorrow morning or wait it out over the weekend?
i should mention we are using a vaporiser and euky rub and panadol on drs recommendation

i would make an appointment now for tomorrow morning, and then depending on how she goes overnight tonight, cancel in the morning if need be?
Ide wait it out but its totally up to you. Obviously is she is struggling too much and keeps vommiting then I would take her to the E.D over the weekend. Coughing does sound horrible but try and remember its better out than in, even if she does vommit the mucous up.. atleast its coming up.
Your doing everything right. When in doubt, go get her checked out.
Awww, poor Summah..
Go to the doctor, crumpet.
thanks guys...
think ill make her appt and cancel if need be...
just dont want to be a paranoid mummy for what could be just a cold![]()
Go to a different doctor if you aren't happy with what your doctor told you.
I got an appointment for all four of my kids about a month ago because they seemed sick (and had temps over 38.5* for five days) and I took whatever appointment I could get for them. TWO HOURS later, I was told they were fine. I had to see my own doctor the next day for me and I asked him to look at my DD1 and just double check. She had a severe ear infection and I asked him to check my other three out and all but DS2 had glue ear. They all needed antibiotics and were still sick for another couple of days before they started to improve. Totally worth getting a second opinion because doctors can miss things sometimes.
The worst they can say is that you are over reacting ... what does it matter what they think if you have peace of mind![]()
I think that you need to follow the Doctors verbal advice. If you don't see an improvement in 48 hours take her back.
The rest of it - feeling like you're being paranoid may be his opinion or may just be something that you are projecting onto him. Either way it irrelevant.
always trust your mothers intuition, if you want to take her back, take her back. you'd rather seem paranoid, than miss something going on. also, i found with chesty coughs that nurofen is a hell of a lot better than panadol as it has a bit of anti-inflammitory in it which will help decrease the swelling in her throat xoxo
thanks for the tip ill send DH to get some
I'm another one who has seen the GP one day and been told it's just a cold/virus and gone back the next day to be told it's a nasty ear infection with a perforated ear drumDon't worry about being one of THOSE Mum's, I'm probably one of them too and I just say "better to be safe than sorry" when I explain I was there the day before

It's going around and it sucks, both girls have been sick with it for 2 wks now, everything you've mentioned from the temps to the throwing up after coughing. I got the same, viral infection, keep up fluids, nurofen etc.
Took DD1 back this week to a diff Dr confirmed yes is a cold but she now has a severe ear infection
DD2 is still sick but 'clear' so it's viral and nothing I can do
Go with your gut hun.

- Sent from my iPhone, more than likely while I should be doing something else!
Dd2 and Ds were like that last week, dd was vomiting and she was struggling to breath she had to sleep sitting up, she had croup and needed redipred, Ds had bronchiolitis and a green funky nose and needed antibiotics.
If you are worried go to another doctor or Ed, as others have said there are nasty bugs around atm.
just saw on crumpets fb that bubba is in hospital
