Steelcraft strider plus 4 OR Steelcraft Agile?

We have laybyed the steelcraft agile, (I think I have posted a thread about it before) but I think I like the steelcraft strider plus 4.. Can anyone give me their opinions on either? The main thing I liked with the agile is that it's light, and it does't have to come apart to fold. The thing I like about the strider plus 4 is the look.. Every time I am out and look at a pram and think I like it, it's a strider plus 4 (or bugaboo, but that's out of our price range ) Soo, any help? We can transfer our layby if we want..

Also, our agile is green, the strider would be blue? Do you think they'll look really grubby quickly are we better just to get black?

ETA: I only like 4 wheels, not 3..

I have a Strider Plus 3 - the only difference is where the brake is for the front wheel, and front access to the basket underneath is different. The reasons we went for this pram are:

    - Can have a bassinette or seat
    - Baby can face you or away from you
    - Can have two seats for later
    - Looks great (that's what sold DH)
    - Came with a boot cover, sun shade and rain cover

Size wasn't really an issue for us. I've never taken it somewhere and not have it fit through a door or something. Packing it into the boot is easy for me, but I have a Patrol. I take off the bassinette and put that on one side, then fold the frame (really easy to fold) and put that next to it. Ours is the caramel colour, so it really doesn't show up any dirt.

I haven't actually seen an Agile so can't really compare, but I really love our Strider

I have the strider plus 4 with the extra seat and I love it!

    PROS:
First and foremost I loved that all the accessories came with it
The front seat is reversible and so snug and cute when bubs is little
very sturdy with the two kids in it
    HUGE basket
Light and and easy to manoeuvre despite its size
Lots of room in the seats, DS is 3 and still comfortable and roomy for him

    CONS:
Very wide and I do have some issues with some checkouts (mainly kmart)
Is heavy to fold in and out of car
Does take up alot of boot space

other than that I can not rave about my pram enough. We have the browny colour and I dont notice and marks or stains on it. Not looking closely though The blue one is called Kingfisher I think.

It is a fantastic pram and I am so glad we bought it.

Yes, blue one is Kingfisher .. The agile is not reversible, which is what I liked about the strider, but I love that the agile only weighs 7 kgs.. I have a magna, so boot is fairly big, do you think I'd have an issue with size?

No I wouldnt think so then as it has a fairly big boot doesnt it??
If you need to the seat can be taken off and so can the wheels all very easily, so the frame itself is very light and flat when folded.

Ok, cool.. So the seat can be taken off to fold but doesn't have to be? I just wondered if I would get sick of taking it apart all the time, but if I don't have to that's another tick in my box I'm pretty sure it would fit in the boot..

Yip, we dont take it off usually but we have a territory so big boot, but then when all the kids are in the car we put the frame on a bike rack on the back so the seat comes off then.
It really is an awesome pram I think I should work for them because I rave about it to people when we are out and about and I get questions about it

If you like the Bugaboo, have you checked out the Quinny Buzz, similar in style. We just bought one the other day, it's in the sale in Baby Kingdom (I love it ). It comes in an awesome electric blue.
I liked the Strider as well, but as I was going round the shopping center, realised nearly everyone had one
Wanted to be a bit different.
    Have fun pram shopping,

I really wanted the striver but ended with a mountain buggy swift.

I changed my mind because a friend told me to test them out on a day when I was pretty tired and found that I couldn't lift it without problems. Also, when we put it in our boot (ford sedan) it took up so much room it just wasn't practical if I needed it when I go shopping. And our boot is fairly large.

I did . I wanted to try before I brought . I have a Strider Plus 3. I LOVE it. I walk 1.5hrs plus most days and it is great. I got the 3 wheel so I can jog with it. I think it depends how you will be using it, if you are planning to do lots of walking I have recommend the strider plus 100%, if you are planning to just use it to do things like shopping and are going to be in n out of the car I would say maybe go something smalller and lighter. I put it in the car in 1 piece, it would drive me nuts taking the seats off. I love that the top seat is reversible. DD2 is so much happier facing me.

I have a strider plus 4, and its been a great pram for having 2 close together. I do take the top seat of to fit in the car, but normally leave the 2nd seat on, and its never been an issue having a 2part fold as its so easy. Its actually easier to take the main seat off than the 2nd.

Here are my pro's/our reasons for choosing it:
    reversible front seat
    both seats recline
good size shopping basket, even with #2.
    accessories came with it.
I like the height of the seat. Some prams, the baby seems so low down.

    Con's
    heavy
wide (like a pp, Kmart always seems to be an issue, but thats about it)
ours has a bit of a wobble, but I'm not sure if thats because I had DD in the 2nd seat after she went past the weight limit. It is still fine in single mode though.

We have the kingfisher, and it is looking quite grubby. Trouble is, the fabric doesn't come completly off the frame to put it in the washing machine, so I'm going to have to give it a good scrub. I wish I had got pram liners, which would solve that issue.

Apart from the wobble, I do have a couple of issues with the frame, but this is only recent and its getting close to 2years old, and has been used practically everyday. But otherwise, I do love it.

We just bought our Strider Plus 3 and love it!! All the features we love have been mentioned above by others but we absolutely love the setup for 2, bub can face us while still having the second seat attached, we love the look of them, how all the accessories are included with it and how 'glidey' it feels.. We ummed and aaahed for a while and were going to wait until closer to bub being born to buy ours as DS doesn't use the pram much now but we also love the Kingfisher and they've discontinued that colour and are bringing the silver back instead so we jumped on the last Kingfisher one Bubs Baby Store had, not sure if they've discontinued the Kingfisher in the 4 as well?? Might help you make your mind up though haha! I don't know anything about the Agile sorry but love our Strider Plus do far in the week we've had it!

Thanks for opinions. I have still yet to go into the baby shop and compare the 2 side by side, but sounds like there are good and bad points for both.

Ozstar - I might take you up on that offer. Good excuse for a catch up Now just to find the time......
