scheduled c section tomorrow at redlands

Hi ladies,im scheduled to have a caeser tomorrow,i had to have emergency with my DD and so i cant remember much it was so quick and i think i went into a little bit of shock because it was a very stressful labour and then c section so i was just wondering what to expect this time,is the recovery much the same and things?I also dont remeber feeling anything at all where as a few people have said they did feel pain and pulling and now im a bit worried, not sure if i just had a real good experience last time or if i was in too much shock and worry to notice?I was just after anyones elected c sections or them compared to emergency and even anyone whose had more than one was there experience any easier the next time round? Thanks so much,im having elective this time as there was so many problems last time and they think it could happen again(another story)

i had a emergency ceasar with my eldest 2 boys and much the same it happen so fast and i was to worried about having them out safely i dont remember much about them but the last 3 were planned ceasars and they were so much more relaxed i did notice more with the last 3 the pushing on the top of my belly and the pulling is like on a rollarcoaster when you go down the feeling of your stomuch dropping thats what it feels like it doesnt hurt its just a weird feeling
i found my recovery alot quicker with the last 3 i was back home alone with 5 kids 3 days after my last ceasar (aged 6,4,2yrs 4months, 16months and newborn) and was off painkillers by the time i come home

    good luck with it

Recovery was heaps better than with my emergency. It was much more relaxed. Also they will probably use a spinal which is a better block than an epi. I didn't feel pain just pulling and pushing. Goodluck for tomorrow

I've only had an emergency but imagine without the extra exhaustion from labour that your recovery could be quicker cause your body isn't already tired If That Makes Sense?
I also remember some pulling too.
Goodluck and you will be holding your LO before you know it

I had an emergency after 36 hours of induction and labour, then an elective and recovery was way quicker - as PP mentioned because you don't have the tiredness from the labour. I think because I knew what to expect afterwards pain wise etc. too it took the shock away. I kept up my pain meds even if I was feeling ok just to make sure i kept feeling ok for both my kids!

Physically I found the pain similar but it was a bit more of a distraction having a toddler and a baby around, and I think I was up a bit quicker at home. It's easy to try and overdo things because you have 2 little ones so just try and rest as much as you can!

Good luck and how exciting that you are meeting your new little one so soon!!! xoxoxo

I had an 'elective' c/s at 34 weeks, and I was off everything but panadol by 48 hours, and walking around the NICU after about 25 hours. I had no pain, really.

I've had one after labour and one with no labour.
I totally agree with the PPs about less tiredness. I think my pain was a bit worse, but only because I felt better and so tried to do more stuff quicker. The staff also expect you to do more (I found) as it wasn't my first bub. This time I'll be extra aware of that and take it slower.
I did feel pulling and pushing, but it didn't hurt or was uncomfortable, just weird IYKWIM?

Take some time out tonight and just chill. Do something lovely for yourself. Be excited that tomorrow you get to meet your new little person.
    Can't wait to hear.
