Hi,
We're pulling DS out of daycare but want to give the 'ladies' something. Woudl a little photo card or somethign like that be good? Any thoughts from carers?
Chocolate! HAHA - but seriously, anything that is a gift showing appreciation for what we do is special. Thanks is a rarely said thing in the industry (in my experience) so when a family does show gratitude, in whatever fashion, it's wonderful.
A photo card with something nice written inside would be perfect!
As others have said it is lovely to be thought of. I still have gifts that I was given by children in my care 10 years ago (and I can still tell you who gave them to me)
I remember one thing I got off a child when I worked at pre-school was a cheese knife. Sounds a bit weird as a treasured gift but it is honestly the one thing that I still use. Everytime I get it out it makes me think back to that special little boy
Looking around the room right now, I can see a candleholder set, photo frame, and cookbook from families I have worked with. Also a weird plastic flower thing for my fridge. Mia (aged 26 months at the time) picked it herself, which makes it really special. A basket of baked goodies for morning tea would go down well too.
Ask your DS what he wants to give them. He'll think of something good.
