Question weird recurring dreams with stuff in mouth ...

Ok, so I dream a lot, and very vividly.

But for months now, very frequently (ie: more often than not, but not every night) in my dreams I become preoccupied with getting something out of my mouth. Sometimes it's chewing gum (with a consistency more like blue tack) other times it's little discs (rice cracker size) or oddly shaped pieces of plastic, or various other things, but I can never get it all out.

As in, I'll pull one of the discs out, but there's another ... and another ... and another ... etc.

Any ideas what on earth this means?

They're never stopping me from being able to breathe or talk or anything, but it's an unplesant sensation, so in the dream I generally stop doing whatever I was doing previously, and just keep and keep on trying to clear all of the whatever out of my mouth.

In a single dream, it's only ever the one type of thing in there, but it varies from dream to dream, and unless I wake up or there's a "jump" in the dream to another event, I will spend the rest of the dream trying to clear all the stuff out of my mouth, and I wake up with the sensation that there's still stuff in there.

Incidentally (in case you're wondering if there's an actual physical thing setting it off) I rarely chew gum (possibly once a month) and I never go to bed with anything in my mouth. I don't smoke or bite my nails or chew pens or anything like that, and as far as I'm aware, I don't actually have any concerns about stuff going in my mouth, if that makes sense ...

    Thanks in advance, ladies...

For many years I had the chewing gum one - it grossed me out so much I can't chew gum now. I read somewhere that it means there are things you are keeping inside and not able to talk about. For me that was the case. I dont have them any more.

I sympathise - the gum one is disgusting!

It's something to do with expressing yourself - if you look up "gag", "mouth", in the dream dictionary on that website.

If you can tell us more of what is happening in the rest of the dreams, that helps with interpreting them.

The ladies have already said what I was going to.

I would say that you have no problem talking normally but there is something you want to say but you are holding back from saying it. The items you are pulling out being a symbol of what is holding you back.

Lol, sorry ladies. It means you're a bit congested so you're sleeping with you're mouth slightly open and your mouth is drying out.

    You need some water.

I have these dreams alllll the time.

    Ha!!

Ok, we have both ends of the spectrum now ...

As far as the rest of the dreams go, it varies - sometimes I'm at work, sometimes I'm in a competition, sometimes I'm at home, or on a holiday or camping or at the library - the rest of the dreams are just normal dreams.

I am a little congested at the moment, but these dreams have been going on a lot longer ... and I'm not waking up with a dry throat ... but I will take that on notice too!

Maybe! But in my case I actually wake up with a soaked pillow because I've been trying to spit the chewing gum out, so if anything it would be that I had an abundance of spit. I dont usually follow the whole dream meaning thing but in this case it was spot on for me
