Doctor wants me to come back to discuss bloods - and it's "non urgent"???

    Hi All,

Just got a call from the gp office and he wants me to come in for a non-urgent appointment re my blood tests results.

No idea what this could mean, but want to know if something is wrong! Going in today at 3.15pm.

Has anybody else had this before??

Is it your ante natal screen? Maybe HCG levels are high and they suspect multiples? Other than that I have no idea. Maybe they are concerned about your immunity to something?? Good luck, I hope it's nothing to worry about.

    Hi There!

Blessed, it was the appointment where they tested hcg among other things as part of the first bloods they do when you tell the GP you're pregnant.

Maybe it's really high? Maybe I'm deficient in some vitamin or something?

Will find out soon. Seeing doctor at 3.15pm today.

I'm guessing Iron levels or Vitamin D. Neither is urgent but just needs your attention.

also could be that your immunity is low in areas.
I had a similar phone call where once I was in there, they let me know that I had no immunity to a variety of things, and low rubella immunity.. Just meant I had to be more careful being around sick people.

    GL this afternoon!

    hcg?

    Hi Guys,

If it was a problem with HCG, you think they would ask me to come in immediately because it can be indicative of something more serious. Wouldn't be that would it?

The girls have given some great reasons, and my first thought was high HCG levels.

Tired, quesy and not wanting to eat sounds like a good pregnancy! Welcome

I think you need to stop thinking about it!!!!!! Your mind is clearly running around in circles!!!!!

But to answer your question, probably but not necessarily. If you HCG levels are low then it MIGHT be a problem. However there is very little that they can do about it either way so no point rushing in.

However I am willing to put a hundred million dollar bet on that is it a low vitamin or iron levels. You can pay me back in chocolate.

    Thanks Untold!

Yeah, I thought that could be the case too re high hcg levels. Feeling pregnant that's for sure.

    Will let you know!

A psychic predicted twins in my future at one point, so maybe...

Possibly low iron or B12 or that you aren't immune to something like rubella or chicken pox would be my first guess if it is "non-urgent"

I am no expert but "non-urgent" you would suspect would mean - nothing is dramatically wrong that can't be fixed!!!

    Good luck hun xx

My GP always made me make an appointment to go in and 'discuss' that results showed there was absolutely nothing to discuss. Generally the person calling is a receptionist, not the Dr, and as such they can't divulge any information over the phone, they have to ask that you make an appt to talk to the Dr. Hope everything's normal - FWIW my GP made me go in just so he could say, 'Blood test confirms you are pregnant. Take vitamins, make an appt for 4 weeks' time for antenatal appts' and that was it. 45 seconds of my time. Good luck!
