Do you think I can go without vacuuming for a whole week?!

DH who is obsessive compulsive has gone away for 3 weeks. I normally have to vacuum every day to keep him in a ok mood. So I'm really tired of it but I am so used to looking for the dirt that he sees that I'm wondering if I can go the whole week without vacuuming? I remember before I was married I would only vacuum once a week. Oh well, here goes day 1.

Wow i hope you don't have a big house, i vac every 2-3 days and thats enough for me with 2 little ferals running around. Even then with spot cleaning and vaccing my carpet looks disgusting, your DH would never want to come here

aahhh I know what its like living with someone like that. My DH after 15 years still checks I didn't give him meat ( he is vegetarian) and that I washed my hands before preparing food.

OMG he would HATE coming here, I only vac when the floors look shocking except at th emoment its a bit more regularly (like every 2nd or 3rd day) because we have an open fireplace and its not uncommon to see bits of wood on our floor.

You don't just need to leave it for a week you need a bottle of wine also Sheesh every day, I'd be putting my foot down and saying you do it every second day and if he wants it done daily he can do it himself ... your not a house maid!

    enjoy your 3 week vacation x x x

If DP ever expected me to clean to an obsessive standard (and got grumpy if it wasn't good enough) I'd throw the vacuum towards him and tell HIM to do it himself.

Yes, you can go a week, and you will enjoy it too.

    Agree

There's cleaning to a reasonable standard and then there's someone else's mental illness.

Interesting insight into how it can impact other people though. That must be really tough for you to deal with

Lol I have a vacuuming obsession. Longest I go is 2 days but only really downstairs in the lounge kitchen area cause it gets so grotty! Good luck lasting a week!

    Good luck

I vacuum probably once per week these days, everyday would be way too much for me. I should do it more often as my floors are dark so things seem to be more noticeable!
