Chinese Medicine - treats men as well as women for fertility

I know a lot of people use acupuncture while TTC, so I wanted to share this:

My long-term acupuncturist told me that Chinese medicine believes that male health is as important as female health for conception. Hence, I brought my husband in to get "checked" for any issues from a Chinese medicine standpoint. He's had all of the Western tests, so I thought probably his diagnosis would be that everything was good to go. (We thought I was 'the problem', due to recent health issues.) To my surprise, actually my husband has major fertility issues from a Chinese medicine standpoint.

(The diagnosis is primarily weak 'kidney' and also some weak 'liver'. This effects a lot of things, including reproduction and sexuality, and I recognized some of the symptoms in my husband that the doctor described would result from weak kidney. It was pretty remarkable.)

Now, my husband is drinking tea made from Chinese herbs to address these issues. We're planning a second ivf session starting 3rd week in October. Maybe this will make the difference.

I'd suggest that any woman who is trying acupuncture while TTC to also have the practicioner check out her partner (if possible).
