Any recommendations for a hand held vaccuum cleaner?

Am looking at getting a hand held vacuum cleaner, to use instead of brush to get up all the bits of cracker etc DD drops all over the house. Anyone got one they really like? I don't think need a stick convertible one as we have a robot we use for the main vacuuming. Think I want cordless/rechargeable as a handheld with a cord seems like too much effort.

We just bought an electrolux one which fits into an attachment that makes it like an upright vaccum cleaner IYKWIM? But it is great cos it's cordless. I've always had a dustbuster, but bending over to give the kitchen floor a clean is a PITA. This thing is fantastic, it's like a vaccum cleaner, without the cord!

I second the electrolux stick vax. I use it everyday especially after dinner and cleaning up all the crumbs and bits of food. Its great when you can't be bothered pulling out the big vacuum. Doesn't have a particularly long battery life (its not supposed to), but has the versatility of an upright vacuum and also a hand held dust buster. Comes in some cool colours too.

Second the Dyson. Love, love , love it! Hardly use the main vac anymore. Suctions great - gets under furniture plus can use as a handheld.

Friends of ours got a dyson and sold it. Apparently it was useless?

Dyson for us - amazing. DH especially loves it for cleaning the car seats, does an amazing job picking up dog hairs.

Ours was $230 at Myer, got it on sale for $175

Cheers for the replies. Mmm I don't think we have anywhere to store a stick one, will check out the black and decker hand held. I did check out an old CHOICE review (2009) and I know in that one the Dyson didn't get the best rating.

We have this one too and I also love it! I never thought I'd rave about a handheld vacuum but I have raved on about this, so much so that my mum went and bought one. Its so handy for the crumbs and sand and every other mess the darlings create. Oh and the filter just goes in the dishwasher - super easy!

The ergorapido comes with a charging stand so as long as you have a power point and a small bit of floor space you can store it anywhere. I have ours sitting next to the rubbish bin in the corner of the kitchen ready to be used. I would recommend next time you're shopping go and have a look and see how versatile and compact it is.

Dyson. Battery lasts for hours and it remains full suction until the battery dies, which is therefore quite sudden when it happens. Doesn't have any bags that can get torn. Mine was a life saver when we renovated our bathrooms and I was 7 months pregnant, I vacuumed everything every afternoon.
