Having decided on a Baby Jogger City Mini Double I now am seeking some wisdom regarding accessories! What is worth it/good value or are there better/just as good generic/universal accessories?
I'm considering
- the new "compact" bassinet - so bubs can face me
- belly bar
- snack tray
- rain cover
- travel bag
Belly bar - a friend had one and it came up really high..... So I didnt bother.... Didnt bother with snack tray either..... Neither of my kids would keep anything on the tray!!
Bassinet - if you so desire! I was in Singapore when dd was little so I had a maxi cozi car seat, with attachments.
The only other things I bought were rain cover IMPERATIVE! and tyre pump
Yay for BJ!
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - I wonder what the kids are up to....Better go!
I wouldn't bother with a snack tray, I can't imagine anything actually stays on the tray
I have the belly bar on my Elite and DD loves it. The height is adjustable within the parameters of the holes, so it can swivel up and down ITMS. I've ordered them for my Select as DD just loves hanging onto it and 'rubber necking'
We had the hard bassinet for DD and she wasn't a fan but I've still bought the bassinet for this baby (for my Select) but I have the Maxi Cosi and the seat so I have options this time If I was going to use my Elite, I would have got the soft bassinet (the cocoon that clips into the seat) but probably more so cause that's the only way I could use the toddler seat as well on the Elite. I do like bassinets but DD taught me that not all babies do!
I have the rain cover for my Elite and have used it under 10 times in 2 years. Unless you're walking literally everywhere and plan on exercising in the rain, I wouldn't bother. I haven't got one for my Select.
I'd definitely get the pump for your tyres though. It clips onto the frame of the pram. We haven't needed ours much but the day we did need it, it was very handy
The mini should have a parents console as part of the main frame but if not, buy a universal console. The Elite has it built in and it's so handy!! I've bought one for my Select.
Do you travel on planes much? We fly quite a bit so the travel bag has been awesome. We always take our Elite as DD knows it (ie it's homely), it's not heavy, it travels 'free' and it packs up and is put back together in minutes. We've ordered a travel bag for our Select too for those reasons.
I see you're going for the purple one too. I've ordered the purple Select (from the States) and I'm so excited as it's not due for release in Aus until Dec!! Not sure about the mini-double but I did see the purple single mini at the Baby Expo the other week so they're already in Aus
So the rain cover and travel bag are on my wish list And most probably the bassinet. I don't think I need the tyre pump for the city mini though, it has different wheels?
i have brought the glider board (dd LOVES it) and waiting on my rain cover (a must for me as i dont drive so have to do school/preschool drop off/pickup even if its raining) and a parent console (atm im using my old jolly jumper one but its to big and sags so got a bj one)
I haven't even got my pram yet so I'm really no help! But I'll be getting the parent console for sure. Was thinking of getting either the tray or belly bar for Moo, as well as the nappy bag but can't find any info on the bag.
I have the belly bar (DS loves sticking his feet on top of it), the rain cover got a good use, the bug cover I would not buy (kinda thought it was a sun shade too but it isisn't), the hard basinette I got cos I wanted DS to face me (only used it for 3 months and then SIL borrowed it as she got a BJ too). Haven't got the tray but DS would just throw everything off it anyway. I would consider the travel bag if my pram was new as it's been thrown around so much and travelled with me a couple of times so it's now got a few good scratchies.
does BJ make a nappy bag???
ive got the console and LOVE IT
havent bought the rain cover yet as i had my P&T for 2yrs and only used the cover maybe 2 or 3 times and ive had my Vogue for a ye and used the cover maybe twice
but was half looking at the belly bar (but im so anal its just something else ill have to keep spotless)
with bassinette weve got a gorgeous thick bobble wool blanket in it and Bubs LOVES IT its soft and inviting (so if you use the bassinette just throw a blanket down and its awesome)
Hmmm, I have a double elite which is just awesome for any outdoors walker - it's cover is in my washing machine along with bleach and napisan ATM trying to get mould out of it - damn rain all winter - so basically that says it all, due to my walking every day to the bank/mail and exercising, I have regretted greatly not having a rain cover, or a shade cover - bub #2 REALLY hates the sun in her eyes, and as good as the tri fold hoods of BJ's are, they still get sun in their eyes. You think they'd make a sun/rain combo bub no, they make them separate to charge you a bonza.
