I had a lap with ovarian drilling in February and my cycles are quite long anywhere from 34 to 40 days.
My first 3 or so periods were fine but they are becoming unbearable. They started off with the first day of spotting then medium bleeding subsiding to spotting again, very little symptoms.
Then 4 cycles ago it changed. I would wake in agony and just cry, they were heavier and I started taking naprogesic but still in pain so I went to the gp who put me on ponstan. Then my first cycle with that I took it at the first sign of pain but my period came on so fast- within 2 hours I was in agony and bleeding heavily I left work to see the dr again.
After i passed a large clot I had little pain but he put me on a combo of ponstan and panadeine forte.
Now before my periods my back pain starts about 4 days before my period my boobs end up like rocks and still my periods are very fast coming on (no spotting heavy flow within a few hours) today I've taken 2 ponstan and 2 panadeine forte and I'm ready to go to hospital I'm in complete agony!
We are ttc so I'm trying to hold off because I'm having cycle tracking now at the hospital and I can speak to them then and report ALL cycle changes/issues.
But where now? Is there better pain relief? Could there be something wrong? I had a hsg (dye test) about 2 months ago and no one mentioned endo, but I do have pco.
Sounds a bit strange to me. I think you'd better get it checked out. I have no idea what's normal after drilling, but that does not sound right. I presume you didn't have these problems previously?
No that's what makes me think something is not right.
A few years ago I was having painful periods so I had a lap and found out a cyst burst and there was fluid and another big cyst that was removed. My periods returned to normal.
I had dd in 08 had 6 periods then they stopped completely till after the drilling.
But never before have I had back pain or my boobs turn to rocks, they literally end up one size bigger and feel like full morning bfing boobs.
And the pain and speed has only been the last 4 cycles.
DH wanted to take me to hospital a couple of months ago and he thinks I should push my next appointment with my dr up (tracking is done with a nurse) and request another lap. It's really the last thing I want. But he is worried, more so because I'm at the point of demanding a hysterectomy, I just don't know how much longer I can take. We have been ttc for 18 months. I'm ready to pack it in!!

I think there must be something going on that shouldn't be duck. I'd get on to it. I know I have endo and it's very painful, but that's normal for me. I'd be worried about a change like this.
I just had a quick look, I don't think it is adenomyosis. I'm not a dr though.
I was reading that it is picked up on ultrasound by either an enlarged uterus that has a heterogeneous texture. Because of my cysts I have been having monthly ultrasounds and my uterus is normal sized and homogenous in texture (or normal looking).
Either way I'll talk to the nurse tomorrow when I have my blood test and see what see says
Hope the nurse or dr can give you some answers, butI could have wrote the part about the flow, that's what mine were like before I feel pregnant with ds. I would actually pass out from pain, and possibly the sudden blood loss, and the anaemia.
Ponstan and panadiene forte from the very first twinge and religiously was the only way I could get some relief, but not total
If you're having regular ultrasounds they would probably pick up adenomyosis. I have it and my uterus is large and heterogenous with diffuse adeno. Periods are a nightmare Panadeine forte helps a bit but I have to wipe myself out on them to have an effect Another thing I use is mersyndol. Have you tried it? It may help with the back pain.
I really hope you find out what it is soon. Take care x
Thanks everyone, I spoke to the nurse this morning she said it's likely because my cycles are so long.
If that's the case I want to be put on the fertility drugs which they have been avoiding! But it would speed up my cycles and effectively stop so much pain if what they are saying is correct.
