    Ergo owners please help!

Can someone please tell me what the difference is between the ergo sport/performance and the original?

Also, until what age did you use it? I am quite petite and am wondering if I'll get my money's worth purchasing one now? I currently use a bjorn (please don't shoot me lol) but am finding it hard on my back, am hoping the ergo will reduce that!

Any reviews etc would be greatly appreciated!

Ergo ROCKS!!!! You will LOVE it! Promise!! I have the original one, so not the sport one.... it looks better I reckon. Check out their websites for comparisons or maybe a BB member will have tried out both and can see your post to add to it. I got mine with DD1 when she was 8mths (regretted not buying it sooner though let me tell you!!!) wore her in it until about 17mths..... stopped because I became pregnant.... and yeah she was walking everywhere etc.

I am going to start using it for DD2 in about a month seeing as she'll then be 4mths old

Please dont quote me but I "think" the fabric is different in the sports model. More breathable and not so hot and also the strap at the bottom is longer I believe. Better for fuller figures or men.

I have the sports ergo and I love it but like I said dont quote me on the difference between the two models it is just what I had heard somewhere I think.

If you like the ergo but you are smaller figured check out the MANDUCA, its an awesome carrier and not as bulky better for all builds including smaller frames, you don't need a newborn pouch as it has newborn options built in.

I bought the Ergo sport originally and found it to be too constrictive. I emailed the Babes In Arms people and they told me that the sport was better for taller people. I, like you, am shorter.

I sold my sport and bought a regular and it's the best thing I ever did. I love the regular, it's much more comfortable.

I am petite also and really can't use my ergo sport with a newborn, but it was always fine with a bigger baby.

It is kind of big, I think the regular would be better. I don't find the sport very cool.

    The main differences are:
    - fabric is lighter
    - body is longer and waist straps also longer
    - the sleeping hood is removable

I have the classic ergo and I'm 163 cm.

I used it all the time until DS1 was about 9 months. We also use it from time to time for him on our backs. He's 22 months now and about 13 kg. I find it really comfy on my back and he loves being in there.

We went to the pbc expo and tried them all. Sport is lighter weight than the performance, it was the lightest and what we thought was most comfortable. Go and try them out before you choose one. I'm ave height and have used the sport since birth.

We still use the ergo a fair bit (not sport) for our DD who was 2 in may. If I had my time again I'd consider the sport due to the lighter fabric - it was a long hot summer here! I do love the ergo though, we got it when DD was 8 months for traveling and it's been used heaps!

I have the original. I find that all carriers are hot in a hot enough summer - two bodies squished together is always going to create heat, no matter what fabric's on the outside.

We're still using it at 8 months, and I can't see us stopping any time soon. The day we started back carries was a whole new world
