Doula after birth

I watched "a baby story" on foxtel and a couple had a doula visit them at home for 4 days after the birth,
She was wonderful and provided support, prepared healthy meals, helped with bubs et, she really supported the new mum, showing techniques on breastfeeding and baby care, and I thought how wonderful.

Has anyone heard of this in Melbourne ?

Yes most doulas also do post-natal doula work. Just google post natal doulas
