Question 1st birthday and New Years Eve party combined. Ideas needed please!!

DD2's birthday is the 31th Dec so we are planning a big party, DD2 first birthday followed by new year eve party. I havn't really done any big parties before so I am feeling a little lost lol. We are planning on starting at 4.30pm, little kids going to sleep around 8pm or whenever they need to and adults partying on. This brings us to our 1st problem, our house isn't very big so most of it will have to be outside, the advantage of this we could set up beds for the kids or would we be better hiring a hall? I need ideas for food. Also would love ideas for entertainment for both kids and adults. Thank you for any ideas.

If you have space outside you could hire a jumping castle for kids (a friend hired one for her DD2 first bday party and the older kids loved it and then they had some time with the just the 1 year old playing on it)

Kareoke machine (but may get a bit loud for kids to sleep)

    Food wise:
    Party pies
    sausage rolls
    Pin wheels
    sushi
    sandwiches
    fairy bread
    meat balls
    chicken wings
    chicken skweres
    sausages
    frankfurts
    wedges
    dip and vegie sticks, biscuts
    cheese
    chips
    hamburgers
mini spring rolls, mini dim sims, samosa
    quiche
    mini pizzas

You could do a theme like Mexican/Hawaiian and do food and drinks along the lines and dress up!!!

Wow hun, what an exciting and epic night! Can you tell us what has been planned so far? Ie what have guests been told on the invite, where are you having it, times etc etc? Then we can give better ideas.

We are having it at home from 4.30pm to midnight. We have a jumping castle I brought from big w, a slip n slide, sing star on ps3. We are planning a bbq, I got sags, rissoles, minute steak, mini sags and mini burgers for kids, cupcakes, cheese dip crackers, chips, fairy bread, mini spring rolls, so far. And I just found a cake to make. So far everyone has just been told to bring swimmers.

The planning has been put on the back burner due to christmas, so rushing into it now.

    Thank you

Sounds awesome! My only comment is that the food doesn't include much salad or fruit? Coleslaw is easy. Bread? Ice blocks for kids? Drinks?

And be careful the food doesn't stay out too long in terms of food poisoning!

    Have an awesome party!
