    What do you think?

Since finding out this bubba is a girl, both DH and I have had disagreements on names.

DS is William Robert, and we had his name since before we even knew he was a boy and it really suits him.
This is where I want your lovely ladies thoughts.

I always wanted my girl to be called Jessie (my middle name - DS has DHs middle name as his first) but now we know we're having a girl, and since before really, I was set on the name Katherine Jane. Problem is, DH doesn't want that name because he doesn't want a William and a Katherine (the royal wedding anyone?)
So he suggested Jessica Susan (but we call her Jessie) but I've never been a fan of Jessica ;got bullied at school by one)

So, which one do you ladies prefer? Since DH suggested Jessica Susan, it's kinda grown on me, but still want Katherine for some reason.
So do you like Jessica Susan or Katherine Jane more?

I have to say I like Jessica better than Katherine. Actually my fav track from the "Man from Snowy River" soundtrack is called "Jessica's Theme" its beautiful.

Anyways, William and Katherine, royal wedding etc would put me off.

As a side thought I also had a cute giggle at maybe calling her Jessica Jane and nicknaming her JJ sorry I just thought it was cute.

Couldn't she just be a Jessie? Doesn't have to be Jessica.

What about Catherine? The different spelling takes away from the royal connection. Or Jessie Catherine?

Im a Jessica myself and love my name for its 'girliness' and 'femininity', although those characteristics do elude me. Its definatly a name I wouldv'e put on the list for my own DD. However, I prefer Katherine Jane from your preferences. If it feels right, stick to your guns. Don't half-ass her name when deciding

I like Catherine Jessica. You can call her Jessie for short even if it's a second name.

If William gets Will & Katherine will be shortened to Kate i think it would be too royal iykwim.
I like Jessie better than Jessica, would you settle on just Jessie is she was going to be called that anyway??

I would prefer Katherine Jane from your suggestions. I know a few Katherine's (with various spellings) & one gets called Cassie. That could remove the royal connection.

What about Jessie Katherine as a different combo?

I like Jessie as a first name (even though I am a Kathryn lol) I do think the royal thing would get mentioned and be a bit annoying being William and Katherine (because they are starting to refer to her as Katherine now, not Kate)

I think Jessica Katherine sounds ok, but not Jessie Katherine (you could still have her name be Jessica and just call her Jessie though)

I actually like Jessie Jane.. but sounds a bit like Jessie James

Thanks everyone for your input - guess I'm feeling a bit put out seeing as DH got to name DS and we agreed if we had a girl that I got to name her (guess he didn't think we'd ever have a girl - neither did I tbh!) and now he seems to have taken over the naming rights.
I guess the reason why I'm so stuck on Jessie, Katherine and Jane are because they are mine, my mum and my MILs middle names and I always wanted to incorporate those names somehow.. DH wants Jessica Susan (Susan is both our mums names) because it would be another 'family' name but we just don't have a Jessica in the family so I don't get how Jessica would be a 'family' name.

Nae - My first suggestion when pregnant with DS was Jessie Jane, but then we found a porn star with the same name

Babyluv - I dunno why, but DH just doesn't like Jessie as the first name and only sees it as a nickname. It's my middle name so I've always loved it, but can't seem to convince DH

Nai - I had Jessie Katherine Jane all set when pregnant with DS, but seem to have gone off a little bit cause DS only having one middle name.

sunny - I guess it's cause I'm not that girly that I'm not a huge fan of Jessica

nickers - I wish I could convince DH, I dunno why he just doesn't like it. Then again, I will probably be the one filling out the birth certificate stuff

Thankyou all again for ideas. I guess I'll just need to sit down with DH and talk through the options. He knows I'm stuck on Jessie, and that I want family names, but I just dunno atm. At least I've still got 17 or so weeks right?!
