    low hcg

My hcg at 13 dpo (24 hours after my first bfp at 12 dpo, I was bfn at 11 dpo) was only 20 (prog 43). Any hope?

Are you sure that you're 13 dpo? If you were -ve 2 days ago, 20 doesn't seem too low, 43 is also pretty good for progesterone. I was getting faint positives for almost a week before a bt showed a level of 50 - I'm now up to 26 weeks. Good luck!

DD was a HCG reading of only 27 at 16DPO and is now a rather full on 2 year old. 20 at 13DPO sounds fine. it's not the starting point that matters - it's how it climbs from here

Thanks. 13dpo FRER was much darker than 12dpo FRER so maybe we are ok, but 20 does seem VERY low to me. I am feeling a bit deflated. We had a chem in Jan and a failed IVF cycle in July. Really want this horrible rollercoaster to be over!

I would say there is definately hope. The fact that the FRER was much darker is a great sign.

Are you getting another HCG done in a day or two?

Hope you get off that rollercoaster soon! It is a nasty feeling isn't it.

As Bg said, it's not the start amount that matters, it's how it doubles.

Sometimes I think all these bloodtests just do our head in. I know, I did them too. Does getting bloodyests help you more than not getting them? It's not like knowing hcg levels can change the outcome. Sometimes ignorance can be good for our sanity.

Try not obsess. I know it's hard after a loss though. If you do want to obsess, I found Beta Base was a good source. Just remember, once hcg gets over 6000, it becomes an inaccurate measure of viability.

Yes, got another test today (15 dpo) and will get the results at 2 tomorrow. FX.

I just realised that I am basing O day on the OPK+ I got on CD13, so maybe I O'd CD15 not CD14? It can't be out too much though because the IUI was on CD14 and washed sperm don't live that long.

As a LTTTC'er trying again after a MC, it's too late for ignorance. I know that pregnancies fail and so does my body. I wish I could go back to being happily naive but that time of life has long since passed. I know you know what I mean . I kept following BB after I quit posting and my heart broke when I read about your second boy .

Try not to stress too much. Tell yourself to live in the joy of the moment. You are pregnant!!!

Doesn't matter what your initial HCG number is - it's the way it doubles over the next couple of days. Stay positive.

I agree with the needing to know M.

One of the hardest things for me about our IVF journey was losing the spontaneous joy - even now I get sad when others concieve with ease naturally, as I wish I could have experienced that too.

Keep us posted on the figures when you get them. Hopefully they will be increasing for you!

with dd my hcg at 12dpo was 19, not sure on prog but your sounds nice and high. so yes there is hope. i was told all sorts of things, ectopic, not viable etc etc but it was all fine. my hcg didnt double at the rate it should till i was 5.5wks either, then it took off and ended up really high, so it was one extreme to the other. try not to stress wait for your results from the second test, its not the number that matters so much as whether its doubling at a good rate. you may have O'd a day or 2 later than you think, or it could just be one of them things. goodluck

Best of luck for tommorows blood test results : A little Tip, if your GP/FS ticks urgent, you can get the results the same day

My fertility clinic likes a rise of 66 % - so if it doesn't completly double, its still good news
