    No Poo for 4 days...

    Hi all,

Another poo question here! DS2 is almost 3 months old. He's on pepti-junior gold formula (for a suspected cows milk protein intolerance) and zoton (for quite severe reflux). He has been doing lots of foul smelling farts but no poos for the last 4 or so days. When he does go it has been very dark green and very liquid.

Would be you concerned? Should I ask a chemist what to give him or take him to the GP? He does seem a bit more upset that usual.

I have tried: brown sugar in water, extral water between feeds and the old cotton bud with vaseline trick. Any other suggestions?

i would be concerned, he could have a blockage and only the watery poo is getting around it.
i dont have a huge amount of experience with reflux. but the gold formulas tend to be a bit thicker and the zoton could also be backing him up.
i woould honestly take him to the doctors and see what u can get to get him moving

Thanks Skybie. I tend to vary between too worried and too laid back, so it is good to have another opinion.

Well, both the local GPs that we normally go to are booked up till Monday. I've made an appointment for then, just in case. So I think I will have to try the chemist today.

Still looking for other tips please on how to help him go!

Can you take him to hospital or after-hours gp just to be sure?

I've got coloxyl drops from the chemist. I'll see how they go and if needed we can always visit the 24 hour GP - it's not far away.

I tried a nice deep bath and lots of nappy off time this morning, but to no avail. Poor bubba.
