Breast lump? Advice anyone had one before?

Last night I found a lump in my boob. I am majorly freaking out right now. I've been feeling off for a while (chest pain and an almost constant bile taste in my mouth) The most weirdest thing was I woke at 1am and felt I just had to check my breasts knowing there was a lump there (like someone was telling me to look and before feeling I just knew there was one there if that makes sense)
I just got back from the Dr who felt my boob and straight away she could feel the lump (without me telling her where it was except the right breast) she said I needed an ultrasound first thing tomorrow and if I can't get in to call her and she will arrange it as soon as possible if I don't have anyluck. Her reaction has made me feel even worse then I was before.
I'm currently BF my almost 5.5month old but the lump is definately unrealated to the ducts etc. Its like pea size and a little tender (probably because I can't stop touching it now) I know my boobs well and this is nothing I've ever had. It definately feels like a cyst or tumour and no massaging it is going to make it change. Just hoping for some advice from anyone that has been through this also.

    Mildez how stressful.

I once had something similar. Had to go for an emergency ultrasound. During the ultrasound a doctor did a biopsy, and as he was drawing the liquid into the needle it was white. In my case, it was a blocked duct, I had no idea. Just sharing my story to give you some peace of mind, a lump doesn't necessarily mean the C word.. Hope your experience is similar to mine

    Oh no

I have had lumps in my boobs before and majorly freaked out too... It's very scary
I had an ultrasound and a fine needle biopsy, but the results were inconclusive, so a few days later they made a small incision and cut it out.
Thankfully it was nothing serious, but a horrible scare.

Sending you lots of hugs and positive vibes, hopefully it is just a cyst

I have a little experience with this. It's helpful to know that the vast vast majority of lumps that are investigated turn out to be benign. It's good that your dr is being vigilant, but chances are the ultrasound/needle biopsy will rule out anything serious. because I know what a nervous wait it can be.

I found one, it's still there and feels smooth like a grape but a bit smaller. I freaked out but an ultrasound showed it was nothing to worry about thinking if you.

I had a fibroadenoma in my right breast at age 18 to somewhere in my 20's... It was checked periodically by my GP(s) and I consulted on one occasion with a breast surgeon. It has since been resorbed by my body - gone.
Mine was a similar size and very mobile. They are sometimes called a "breast mouse" because of the way they move about. It's a collection of extra tissue and is nothing to worry about.
Hopefully you have had yours checked out now and everything is ok?

I have had a Fibroadenoma too. I has a mammogram, ultrasound and then FNA to make sure. I still have the lump, only time I saw a surgeon I was pregnant and knew I would be BF so I said if it will need to come out it can wait till my baby making days are over so it is still there, sometimes I can feel it by just running my hand over it over times I have to feel around for it.

I really hope everything is okay for you. It is such a scary time waiting for answers.

Also thinking of you and hoping that all was well. I have also had a lump in my breast which on ultrasounds turned out to be fine.

Thank you so much ladies for thinking of me. I unfortunately have not had my ultrasound yet so at the moment I have no news to share (no news is good news right?) The lump is still there and its unchanged. I saw my normal GP not the one that gave me a referral and she said the lump feels like a swollen gland and has sent me of for a pile of BTs also to test for a number of things. I'll have these results back before the results of my scan I guess.

All I can say is, I have been through this to and so did one of my friends and we both had fibroadenomas too.. In most instances, breast lumps are benign as someone else has said so try not to worry too much about it at this stage, no use worrying before you have to, although I know how hard it is not to.. Many women have something called fibrocystic breast disease which is lumps that flare up at different stages of the cycle, its quite common.. so hopefully at best its just a blocked duct, and at worst might just be one of those fibro lumps.. X

It's probably nothing, but please have the ultrasound. If it is something nasty, it really needs to be dealt with quickly. Time can make a huge difference. I am not trying to freak you out, as I said it's most likely nothing, but knowing for sure will also stop any lingering worry you might have.
