Baby wearing – initially the term really put me off.

When I was new to this whole parenting thing, I totally didn’t get baby wearing. I found it objectionable that people would liken their babies to fashion accessories and I actually though it was similar to dog wearing (if-you-like), you know, where celebrities have a tiny dog in a glittery handbag-like-thing on their arm. And I thought people that had their babies strapped to them all day were just a bit nuts.

Then I got given a baby bjorn as a hand-me-down and that set us back even further. Those damn things are so ubiquitous, I never knew there was anything else. I could never understand why people liked it so much (BBs and baby wearing), it was so uncomfortable for me and for my baby.

When I found I was pregnant with #3 I finally got me an Ergo. Best thing ever! DS2 has lived in it from birth. I love not having a pram, I can go up and down stairs and in and around shops with tiny isles easily. I love that DS2 is up near my face, looking at me, smelling me, meeting lots and lots of new people, greeting them, listening to them talk. That feeling when they nod off and fall sound asleep on your chest while you go about your ordinary business, there’s nothing like it. That's all.

    Love my Ergo
Love having my DD snuggled into me as we stroll around the shops! It's so much easier than a pram and it keeps you both warm in winter!

I loved BW. You have no idea how much I wish I could feel warm breath against my chest again .

I agree on disliking the term baby-wearing, but i did love how easy my various baby-carriers made my life.
    Can i have another baby...

Yes, you need a baby to go with your carriers
It does make life so much easier

I loved the HAB. TBH when I first saw it I loved the idea of not having to haul around a pram everywhere and having my hands free. Those Baby Bjorns just looked uncomfortable by comparison.

I actually never heard the term baby-wearing until later!

I guess you already 'wear' your baby for nine months before you need an accessory to do so. Unlike a tiny dog in a glittery handbag.
