    My Ned :(

    Yesterday we said good bye to our big beautiful standard poodle Ned...my heart is breaking

    A few days ago we noticed his tummy was looking a bit swollen but as he was eating and his usual happy self we just thought he needed a good poo...how wrong we were.

    I took him to the vets yesterday afternoon and got the worst possible news he had a heart condition and it was fluid in his abdomen it was very serious and for him to be so young and for it to come on so fast there was little they could do. We were given the choice to take him home but the vet said he would get quite sick fast as the fluid would make it hard to breathe...he wouldn't just go peacefully. I couldnt bring myself to take him home then have to bring him back so I spent some time with him before the vet took him away.

    It was like he knew he just sat with his head in my lap until it was time for me to leave.

    I've never lost an animal like this before and never knew it would hurt so much. Esme our retreiver is just heartbroken.

    We only had him for 18months but he was such a special dog and will be greatly missed RIP Neddy boy xx

    Ohhh so sorry to hear that you had to leave your fur baby behind. May he RIP and play in the clouds and eat bones in a happy pain free place.

    I feel your pain and it's terrible. I remember losing my gorgeous ****er Spaniel about 8 years ago and it was heartbreaking.
    It all happened so fast and you don't get time to adjust.

    I am so sorry for the loss of your boy Ned. It is so horrible to lose a pet and one so young when even harder. Hugs for your Esme too.
