I'd love to hear from anyone who's had a VBAC in Townsville. My first son was born by c-sect because he was breech. There's no reason why I can't give VBAC a go. My main concerns/questions are: has anyone had a VBAC with Dr Catalano? Just wondering what you felt his attitude towards VBAC is, and whether anyone has done reseach into whether the Mater Hospital or Townsville Hospital was more supportive of VBAC. Wondering whether to go private at the Mater, private with Dr Cataano at TTH (not sure if he'll deliver there), or public at TTH. My son was born at 38wks at 4430g so I'm likely to have a big bubba. This doesn't worry me, but might concern the Dr, especially if I go close to or over 40wks. Thanks in advance for sharing your stories
I think that you should go to the birth after cesearean support group that is run in townsville. I will find you a link to the fb page so you can have a look. There are lots of girls there who have had VBAC's in townsville and a great supportive culture. well I went to the fb site and I think you have found the girls already so I won't post you a link good luck
Hi,
How did you go finding out information?
I am in Cairns but trying to find out anything I can about going VBAC. What was the link to the Townsville support group? Do you know if there are any Cairns ones?
Thanks
Hi! I have joined the FB page for Townsville "Birth after Caesarean Support and Information Group". I had a chat to one of the founding members which I found very useful. I haven't made it to a meeting yet. My dr says I'm all set to give natural birth a go (I'm 33wks now). No reason why not at this stage. No idea what is available in Cairns, sorry. Good luck!
Well she loves helping people. Don't forget to reach out to her or the other girls if you need more support . And honestly go to bac group! It is wonderful! You will love the supportive culture and can spend an evening talking all things birth!
