    Rosehip oil

Does anyone know of rosehip oil would be any good for treating scaring/redness left behind from pimples? I have quite a horrible patch on my chin, and I'd like for it to not be there anymore.

It's supposed to be good for other types of scarring, so I'd give it a go. The trick with these anti-scar oils is to massage it in for a good minute or so a couple of times a day - the massage (supposedly) promotes circulation and improves the efficacy of the active ingredients in the oil.

Thanks for the advice marydean! I'm definitely going to give it a shot. It'd be nice not to have to slather makeup on my chin (which really doesn't help the pimple to scarring cycle) before heading out, that's for sure.

It works pretty good on scars (mine was a surgical scar) and like MD said give it a really good massage

I've just started using it on my stretchmarks, hopefully it'll help!

My sister used it and loved it! The other thing she used to do was break open vitamin E tabs and use that too

Definitely - I used it for years on acne-prone skin and it was fantastic. Some brands have quite a strong woody smell, so test a few. A'Kin and Trilogy are nice.

Ooh that would be nice! Might try it and see! Bio-oil did nothing for mine

Rosehip is great for scars however it's not suitable if your skin is has active acne, pimples or overt oiliness as it can cause the skin to break out even more. You'd be fine if your skin is normal, dry or even combination and the pimples are a one off and no new ones are coming up frequently but I'd stay clear otherwise.

For that type of scarring you could look at gentle skin lighteners and exfoliants.

Also keep in mind that even mild scarring or pimple related pigmentation takes at LEAST a month to begin to improve with products.

LL I had active acne and it was fine, in fact it helped balance it. The 'oil produces more oil' theory is a myth, so my dermatologist said. All skins (and oils, for that matter) are different of course

The sukin one I had my eye on actually says it's for "problem skin" which I would have considered to include acne?
I only get the odd pimple anyway these days.

Yes but some oils are absorbed better by the skin while others have larger molecules so cannot penetrate thus causing problems. All skins are different though. I could never use rosehip on my skin when I had acne at all.

Is the sukin 100% rosehip or an oil blend?
