    Recommend me a carrier.

I'm currently awaiting the arrival of a ring sling but would also like a carrier so I can be completely hands free when we're out and about.

I've been looking at the Beco Butterfly 2 and the Ergo but I'm not sure what the difference is or if there's something better on the market.

DD is 3 months old, solid but not too chubby. I've been googling and looking but thought real life reviews would be my best bet.

I loved Ergo from 4 months old when baby could support head better and not need insert, I still use it now and have carried 3 year old in it on back.

I had a close carrier I loved used from birth until 9 months when it started pulling on my neck but DS2 is heavy.

You would probably get more use and better value for money from ergo.

    Hope that helps a bit.

I love my Ergo! DS is 22 months and we still use it I had a couple of slings when he was younger but never got the hang of them. I wish I'd had the insert for the Ergo when he was a newborn so I could have used it then. It is the only one I've tried so I can't compare it to any others similar. But I guess I was happy with it so I didn't need to

Another vote for the Ergo. Love the Close Carrier for newborns but then the Ergo is great and lasts for ages.

I think the main difference is that the Becos come in prints/pretty fabric, whereas Ergo doesn't and with a Beco you can do a front facing carry if you so desire. Becos are also harder to come by.
    There's also the Manduca
Beetlebums do a half buckle soft structured carrier (SSC) which is a buckle waist and mei tei straps - more adjustable than a full buckle SSC
    Bobo do a SSC.

One thing to be aware of with the full buckle carriers, is that you need to be flexible enough to do up the strap clip at the top of your back (i.e. near your shoulder blades). I just couldn't reach the straps well enough to do them up. I'm not horribly inflexible, just didn't seem to work for me. So I think you need to try it on in person before buying one.

I have a mei tai that I bought 2nd hand on ebay.
