Has anyone gone Gluten Free to assist with Hypothyroid (underactive thyroid)

    Hi Girls,
I was diagnosed with borderline hypothyroidism last week and have had more tests and I am going for an ultrasound tomorrow. I know a fair bit about it as its common in my family, my mum had an overactive thyroid and had part of it removed or all of it removed (i cant remember now) it then went underactive obviously. So I am no stranger to it all.

Most naturopaths and some doctors suggest you go Gluten free to assist with the condition. I have decided to do this but I would love to talk to other people who have done it or anyone who has an underactive thyroid.

Would also love to hear from NON celiacs who have decided to go Gluten free and find some tips that they have learnt or picked up along the way.

Hoping the next lot of tests come back saying it was a false alarm but I doubt that very much.

Hey hun, I have absolutely no idea (helpful hey ) BUT I do follow Sarah Wilson's (ex-Masterchef host, now Eat yourself sexy host) blog and FB page and I know she cut gluten (and sugar) for thyroid issues and writes a lot about it. I am not sure if her condition is the same but might be worth having a look. Her website is her full name .com.au
