    DH's favourite

DH's favourite girls name is Aya (aye-uh). What do you think? I think it could grow on me. I still love Hadassah, Faith and Honour although I'm thinking more about Isla and Esther lately as well.

Isla's a nice name Apparently it's becoming more popular now, if that's a consideration for you.

Out of the others list I like Aya the best. It looks very pretty. People night have some issues with pronunciation though...but people seem to have a lot of trouble with most names. Isla gets Iz-la a lot

There are three ways they can pronounce it, I think

    aye-uh
    aye-yuh
    eye-uh
    eye-yuh

    I prefer aye-uh.

The TV Series DH got it from spells is Arya and pronounces it more ire-yuh

I would happily name our next DD Honour! I love it so much. I love it is slightly unusual and yet common so everyone knows how to say it.

If you wanted the name pronounced eye-uh, how would you spell it?

Hi, I have a Japanese friend with the name Aya, (short for Ayako) they pronnounce it 'ah-ya', but here in Australia she mostly got called 'eye-ya'.. Either way I think it's a pretty name :-)

I really like it, the sound and the look of it written. Would you be having a middle name? I also like Faith, Honour and Isla. GL

Me too - she once said it meant truth and colour. I think it's a beautiful name Maruschke.

    Honour is lovely as well.

I like Aya - what does it mean?? Its very pretty

I certainly like it best of all your names, but I do not see names like Honour, Charity, Faith etc as little girl names but maybe its because of an association I have with a "Charity"

I am not sure, Nae. I know that Arya means pure and I love that name too, but I wonder if people would know how to pronounce it if they read it?

    ------------

    Gender: Both

    Origin: Japanese

    Meaning: Design; paint

    Origin: Hebrew
