    Which do you prefer?

My DH loves the name Helene, I haven't found anything that I love but have been thinking about his favourite and have decided I prefer Helena

So what do you prefer Helene or Helena?

Our older DD's are Jasmine and Aimee

I think I prefer Helena. My reasoning is that your older daughters names both have different endings (eg. "ine" and "ee") and the "ene" from Helene is very similar to the "ine" of Jasmine. If you use Helena then it's another different ending with "ena".

Gosh I hope that made sense written like it seemed to make sense in my head hahaha

Made sense to me - I happen to agree with Mylitta. Helena is a gorgeous name.

I'm going to go with Helene. Incidentally, that was the name of the street my parents lived on when I was born

My cousin has a Heléna and she's all uptight and prissy about pronouncing it Hel-ayyyy-nah (yes, stretched out like you're yawning), and you HAVE TO have the accent (I'm not sure if I've put it in right) or she gets even angrier. So that's turned me off that name

Helena! But then I think Helena Christensen is one of the most beautiful women ever!

I would vote for Helena. I like it pronounced like Helen-ah rather than Hel-ay-nah though. I had that on my list for DD

I like both but I wanted to add the midwife who did my antenatal classes was Helene and she was a lovely bubbly lady. The name makes me think of a happy person

When I first read it I pronounced it he-lee-nah, but after reading the other posts I prefer it like you have it in your last post, he-lay-nah

I have an aunty and a very good friend named Helena so am a huge fan. I concur with Mylitta re: name ending sounds. Also agree with Nickers re: Helene ending up as Helen (not that Helen's not a beautiful name, but it's better not to have to spell out your name IYKWIM?).
