Us again - with a whole new dilemma!

So, some of you may remember the issues we had earlier (10 weeks ago actually!) that we couldn't decide names.
Oh before I go on, this might be a bit long...

Well, now I've got off a couple of names and DH likes a few new names.... and we now can't decide again!!

    Here's the situation atm.

    * DH has grown to love Katherine Jane, BUT he is like everyone else we know and against having a William and a Katherine because when the kids are older, the Will and Kate that got married this year are probably gonna be king and queen and he doesn't want them to get picked on or teased at school.

    * I've grown to like Jessica, but DH has tended to go away from it

*We've looked at other family names (because we're traditional people, we really want them to have family names) and we just can't find anything that would flow well.

So, these are the sames we have - looking for opinions here.

    * Jessica Katherine Jane B***e
    * Katherine Jane B***e (though DH loves this, he's veto-ing it because of the whole royal family thing)
    * Jessica Jane, but calling her Jessie (which is my middle name) and letting her decide what she wants to be known as when she's older. We just didn't want Jessie Jane as it's a porn stars name
    * Jessica Susan B***e

    Other family names include :
    * Vicky/Victoria (my aunt - married into the family)
    * Debra (my mums birth name - she's adopted)
    * Sandra (my aunt - married into the family)
    * Anne (DHs aunty - married into family)
    * Emma, Alethea + Zoe (all DHs cousins)
    * Shanelle, Michelle, Amy, Kristy, Nicole, Cindy, Renee, Shante (all my cousins - though I veto-ed Cindy cause I work with one ((though different spelling)) because she's such a stuck up twat)

DH said that in the end, it's my decision because I get to name the girl/s we have. But I want to make sure that it's a name that DH likes as well.
So, what are your thoughts on different combinations?

I get the Will & Kate thing, but do you have to nick name her Kate? I have a friend with that name that gets called Cassie. What about Kathy as a NN?

Otherwise, I would go Jessica Jane & just forget about the whole porn star thing. That particular one should be long gone by the time your DD is old enough to know what a porn star is. And another could pop up with whatever name you end up picking anyway.

Out of the other names you've listed, I like Emma, Amy & Zoe.

I like Jessica Katherine, with or without the Jane.

Do you like Rebecca? That would go with Katherine as well.

What about Jane as a first name? Jane Katherine, or Jane Jessica.

I wouldnt think too much about the Will and Kate thing, if you love Katherine, just go for it. You havent named them after them, they are just names you like and you have a right to go with what you want. Also, like a pp said, she wont necessarily get called Kate as a nickname. I have a cousin called Kathryn and her nn is Kat/Kath, shes never been called Kate. She also has a cousin called Kate, but it didnt stop my aunty calling her Kathryn cos she might get called Kate too, it was a name she loved and she went with it, and thats what you should do. Anddddddd lolllll, Kathryn's twin brother is called William, he gets called Billy, so they are Billy and Kat/Kath. So yeah, just go for it

I think Jessica Katherine is the name. Your husband has said you can pick and that's your pick and you're both vetoing his choice anyway. Go for it!

Call her Katherine if that's the name you like. It's spelt differently, for a start (the princess is a Catherine) and by the time your DD is older, who knows whether there will even be a "Will and Kate" phenomenon to worry about? Not to put the kybosh on their marriage or anything, but I wouldn't be avoiding a name based on a current celebrity relationship!

Thanks for all the input ladies

DH is starting to go off the idea of Jessica because he's gonna have two in his class next year (he's a school teacher) and he came across them at work on Friday and they were right royal little b****s. (His words, not mine!!)
I personally love Jessie Katherine Jane, and Jessica Susan. We still both love Katherine Jane but DH is still cautious. I just think having a Katherine with our boy, William, just rolls beautifully.

I do admit, I'm getting sick of telling complete strangers that ask if we have names sorted what we have an idea of and they say 'Yeah, or you could use >insert name here<'
When I was PG with DS, and we said what we wanted him to be called, everyone loved it (that we told) and never once tried to sway us (but this one no-one likes anything we say and tries to sway us!)
Maybe that's just hormones though, cause I don't seem to be snippy with anyone here

    I love Katherine Jane.

FWIW - My Nephew and Niece are William and Caitlin but everyone calls her Cate. They are 8 and 10 years old and they love that they have the same names as the royal version.

I say stick with what you really love.

Stop worrying about what everyone else thinks, what matters is that you and your DH love the name you choose (FWIW I have a cousin Jessica and she's just gorgeous).

If you're worried that people will try to sway you to a different name, don't tell them the names that you're thinking of and tell them you're keeping it as a surprise for when she's born.

    What she said ^^

Don't think about what others have said, don't tell them until she is born , It's your decision to make. Katherine Jane is lovely, kids don't care about royals so they won't be teased.
